Zoë is home with her new ACL and repaired meniscus. Her sisters made her a heart curtain and her friends came over to cheer her up. ❤️

I will never forget when you were town planner for China Grove. I was like, that’s not just a Doobie Brothers’ song? Then, one day, you wanted more adventure and so you joined the Navy. What an adventure you had. Years later, you loved telling stories about “shooting” jet fighters off the deck of an aircraft carrier. I mean who wouldn’t? That was pretty bad ass. You loved that video of your final launch. Then, they launched your boots off into the ocean.
I think that’s where we found companionship. We loved our home in NC but we loved adventure as well.
This morning, I can’t help but seeing that image of your Navy boots flying off that aircraft carrier into the deep blue.
Goodbye, Brandon. I love you.

Our family requires a lot of shoes... summer shoes, soccer cleats, winter boots, and spring mud boots...

Seeds just came into the local Home Depot. It’s -5 outside. That’s optimistic product placement.

It’s so cold, the ocean is freezing. I could hear the ice sheets popping and cracking as they resisted the tides.

Parkman Mountain loop with Kevin. I never imagined sweating when it’s 4 degrees. XC skiing is fun! And tiring!

Warm reading for the cold weekend ahead. Have you read this book on gardens by Harrison?
A friend raves about this book and gave me this copy during the fall.

Have a big ravine on your property by the ocean? How about a stainless suspension bridge to get to the other side...
