Volunteer #parsley plant popping up in my #onion patch. Did you know #petroselinumcrispum gets its Latin name from petro (rock) + selinon (celery)? #rockcelery!

#marigolds are known in Spanish as la #flordemuerto - flower of death. Their flashy colors and strong scents are attract the spirits of the dead, helping them find their families for #diadelosmuertos. In #nahuatl, the word for marigold is #zempoalxochitl, "twenty + flower," for its many petals. #seedsaving

#mycenagrisiovidris growing in the garden, living in partnership with my veggies in a a symphony of #symbiosis. This #mushroom, part of a network of subterranean #mycelia, is fed sugars by my plants. The #fungi in turn deliver nitrogen and other nutritious elements to the plants. #nature

Hello #onions! Typically onions are planted in the spring for a fall harvest (think rich, French onion soup), but here in #LosAngeles, we can plant in the fall, overwinter in the ground, and produce a spring crop. If anyone wants onion seeds, I have hundreds! #Onionseeds are notoriously short-lived and should not be saved longer than a few months. Who wants to grow onions with me?? #freeseeds #alliumcepa
