After going over coopers head in her first jump Genevieve got back on and conquered her fears. #bravery

I think we are still trying to wrap our heads around another little girl, well at least I am. I was so sure it was a boy. Finn since he was just two has talked constantly about his “baby Joe” brother in heaven. So naturally when we found out we were having a baby we all thought boy. I was stunned when they couldn’t find any boy parts on the ultra sound. She was wiggling all over the place and crossing her legs tight (we had to do two ultrasounds to be positive). Another girl... I can honestly say I’m terrified. Scared or not she’s coming and we really couldn’t be more happy to finally have another baby! Side note: I love this picture. The kids and Joe’s face are absolutely priceless.

This year the family voted... Joe and the kids wanted to do a Guardians of the Galaxy theme (I lost). Finley (Rocket the Raccoon), Genevieve (Gamora, last of her species), and Joe and I are the villains (The Sovereign). We had a pizza and Donut food truck, fires, friends, family and lots of full tummies. Halloween is a close second to Christmas in our family and this year didn’t disappoint! Next year we will have another little peanut to dress up and indoctrinate with our love of all things dark and spooky... can’t wait! Happy Halloween 2017

School parades, classroom Halloween parties, cookie decorating. We did it all. Joe took the cookie station in Genevieve’s class room and I did Finleys’. Together we tried to do it all!

I wanted share Genevieve’s luncheon I did after Genevieve’s baptism. It had to be documented because Joe and I spent the month prior trying to get ready and planning for it. It was a beautiful day with yummy food, pretty decorations and the love of our families and friends. We couldn’t ask for more.

I love this tradition. Every year in the month of your birthday you get to have lunch at the birthday table. Your parents come and bring your favorite food (gs is In N’ Out) and we eat lunch together. Today was birthday table!! It’s turning out to be a month long celebration for this little eight year old.

American in Paris.
We don’t care what we are doing... as long as we are doing it together.

I was baptized 15 years ago into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I’ve made a lot of good decisions in my life (some pretty bad ones) but I truly believe my driving force and my foundation to make and create good choices is my first decision to be baptized. It wasn’t a step in my life that I made easily. It took me a year of soul searching. One of the very biggest reasons I chose at 17 years old to join the Church was because I wanted to give my own children all the blessings of the gospel. Now Genevieve is choosing for herself to be baptized and it means more to me than most will ever know. I’ve waited for this day for 15 years. All my hard work and perseverance were to bring my kids into the gospel so they could feel the love their Savior has for them and the full magnitude of their existence . I hope Genevieve continues to love her Savior and continues to believe she is a daughter of God. She has such a strong, innocent and unwavering testimony. Genevieve is beautiful from the depths of her soul to the freckles on her nose. I love her more than words can say and I think Heavenly Father is the only one who truly understands the depth of my love for my children. I am so proud of Genevieve. I hope she finds as much peace, comfort and happiness as I have as a member of the LDS Church. Plus I finally got to take pictures of my own little girl in her baptism dress! Love you Evie girl four more days!

Horses are kind of big deal in our house. Genevieve has lead the way and of course Finn had to follow. Finns first lesson.

Finley my sunshine boy and first grader. Unlike his sister he wasn't as excited for school to start. He would much rather be home with his family , riding bikes, camping and playing in the dirt. As I was dropping him off I went to grab his hand and he pulled it away embarrassed. It broke my heart. I always want to remember his coltish legs and contagious smile. His hugs and cuddles and his funny sense of humor. This is a new stage of life for us and I'm greeting it with much reluctance.

Genevieve was so excited to start second grade. She loves school. I just always want to remember her like this. Her big crooked smile, long fingers, skinny bruised up legs and her sweet giggle. She is going to move mountains.

🎶"A fair is a veritable smorgasbord-orgasbord-orgasbord
After the crowds have ceased.
Each night, when the lights go out, it can be found, on the ground, all around,
Oh! What a rat-ly feast!
Melon rinds and bits of hot dogs, cookie crumbs and rotten cotton candy,
Melted ice cream, mustard drippings, moldy goodies everywhere.
Lots of popcorn, apple cores, banana peels and soggy sandwiches,
And gobs of gorgeous gook to gobble at the fair!"🎶

Genevieve said "the next time we see this we will be 200 years old." Um... ok. I may need to have a discussion with her on a normal human life span. The eclipse was pretty neat to see. It looked like evening but the sun was in the wrong part of the sky. What a cool thing to experience in our lifetime. ✔️bucketlist

A lot of change is happening over here: haircuts, first grade, etc. so We finally did it and cut off all of Finns golden locks. He was tired of everyone thinking he was a girl. It was tough for me. I have an attachment to his hair and I loved his hair shoulder length. Plus I knew he'd look so much older with it short. I had a few tears but he's darling and gearing up to start first grade and that's where I'll really cry my eyes out. My baby is not really a baby anymore.
