Today, I was proud to speak at the 2012 Justice for All Awards and Americans with Disabilities Act Anniversary Celebration with the American Association of People with Disabilities. I was proud to lead the effort in Congress to pass this law.

News reports agree: @realdonaldtrump is deliberately sabotaging the Affordable Care Act, which will raise premiums on millions of Americans and undermine health insurance markets.

Thank you @fwdus for the opportunity to meet with more of our nation’s #DREAMers and hear their stories. We need #DREAMActNow for #DREAMers like Jennifer, who came to the United States at 4 years old and was a Girl Scout and a valedictorian. And Bernard, who is currently in school to be a physician assistant and could not get a driver’s license until the #DACA program. Congress must #ProtectDREAMers who are enriching our communities and building our nation’s future. They deserve a permanent legislative solution to remain here. It is time for #DREAMActNow

Today, led by my brother @repjohnlewis and my good friend @gabbygiffords, House Democrats stood united to remind House Republicans that we were elected to lead and have courage. We must act now to #EndGunViolence, and I was proud to stand with my colleagues to demand a vote on the bipartisan King-Thompson background checks and the creation of a Select Committee to address gun violence.

Today, I held a press conference with @Hispanic.Caucus and @HouseDemocrats to announce a petition to force a vote on the DREAM Act. This bill has bipartisan support and will pass if it comes to the Floor. Democrats will explore every avenue to #ProtectDREAMers.
As #HispanicHeritageMonth begins, I am focused on making it a month of action to #ProtectDREAMers and pass the #DREAMAct.

We're exploring every avenue to pass the bill and stand united in our efforts to #ProtectDREAMers.

Today I stood alongside my friends House Budget Committee Ranking Member @repjohnyarmuth, @repbarbaralee, Vice Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee @RepJayapal, and NDD United to call on the House GOP to #RaiseTheCaps, so we can invest in our country and in its people. We cannot afford to short change America’s future.
As we recognize the 5th anniversary of #DACA, #IStandWithImmigrants & will continue to #DefendDACA so that DREAMers can continue to contribute to this country in whose future we share.

Today, I joined @repgutierrez and the @hispanic.caucus to introduce the #AmericanHopeAct, which would offer a pathway to citizenship to #DREAMers, who came to this country as children through no fault of their own. Immigrants are not a burden on this country. Indeed, they are one of the great strengths of this country. I urge Republicans to bring this bill to the Floor.

This morning, I stood alongside my colleagues in House Democratic leaders to deliver a simple message to Republicans: the Affordable Care Act is the law of the land and each of us have a responsibility to make sure that it is implemented in a way that is positive for Americans.

The Commander-in-Chief is dead, flat wrong on his decision to ban transgender Americans from serving in the military. It is in the best interest of our military to #ProtectTransTroops, and Democrats will continue to speak out against this divisive ban.

I joined @reprubengallego, @repfilemonvela, and @rep.peteaguilar at a press conference today to oppose the legislative gimmick Republicans will use to avoid an up-or-down vote on funding for President Trump's ineffective border wall.

#HartzlerAmd is not about defense. It has one purpose and one purpose only: to politically denigrate some of our fellow citizens, to treat them less equally than we would want to be treated. I’m proud the House voted down this anti-#LGBT amendment.
