Lemme tell y’all, MOM GUILT IS REAL!
.
I was on such a high after my workout bc it’s my first lunchtime workout since I’ve been back to work. Then I called the daycare to check on babygirl, and they said she’d been having a rough day & crying a lot😢
.
Immediately brought my mood down😔I felt bad that I can’t be with her all day, that I need money to pay bills, that I couldn’t stay home on maternity leave w/ her longer, that I’m not a SAHM, that I’ve been having a great day while she’s at daycare wondering where she’s at and crying 😫😭
.
However, I realized that I actually LIKE having her in daycare so I CAN work and get back to the things that make me feel like ME. 😳 But #MomGuilt sinks in and I feel like my baby shouldn’t be sad while I’m out here taking gym selfies. But in reality, if I’m being completely honest, even if I didn’t have a job, I’d STILL want her at daycare🤷🏾‍♀️

Y’all know I love the sh*t outta Savannnah, but I value my “me time”, and I’m so grateful to have a trusted caregiver watch her while I do me. But it is STILL really hard leaving her and then getting reports like I did today😩 There’s that part of me that wants to drop everything and run to her rescue but I know it won’t serve her bc I can’t do that all through her life. Maintaining my own identity within Motherhood is important to me bc I don’t want to lose myself in Motherhood
.
Mommin ain’t easy!! It tests and challenges every part of your being. Not everyone understands the struggle unless they’ve been thru it and even then some don’t. And Moms get judged sooo harshly!!
.
So I’m just sharing, bc I know there’s a Mom out there who feels the same and may have needed this message today.
.
It’s OK! You can still be a great Mom & want your own life. You can feel guilty you’re not with your child and still enjoy your “me time”!
.
One of the reasons #MomGuilt exists is bc Moms are often made to feel like if we don’t sacrifice our entire lives for our kids we’re somehow a bad parent. You’ve still got shit to do Mama! There’s no need to give it all up bc you had a baby. Reprioritize. Delegate tasks. Hire help. Embrace change. Pray. #YouGotThis

Good Morning! I’m so thrilled to share my excitement of becoming an Ambassador to the @jrazzcollection 🤗🤗🤗

THANK GOD FOR COACHES!
.
This past week I was struggling with strong feelings of self doubt and inadequacy. I didn’t post anything bc I felt it’d be inauthentic. Like how could I come on here trying to empower others and write something thought provoking when I wasn’t feeling it myself ?
.
You know how you KNOW you need to get out your head and talk to someone about what you’re dealing with, but you don’t for fear of judgement and embarrassment?? 🙋🏾‍♀️ That was me this week. It took me dayysss longer than it could have because I kept telling myself I could handle it all myself. Truth is, I COULD HAVE handled it myself, BUTTTT it probably would’ve took me another week or two to work through it all.
.
In the meantime, my relationships were suffering, things that didn’t annoy me were suddenly pissing me off, my work was slipping, and I wasn’t nearly as joyful as I normally am. I wasn’t taking actions I needed to take to move my business forward and I kept forgetting about important things to do around my home.🤦🏾‍♀️And if you’re not happy at home, you’re just not happy😕
.
Thankfully, I finally reached out to my coach who set me straight in a 60 min call. A 60 MIN CALL PEOPLE!! A phone call raised my vibration so now I’m back in action and I cleaned up all that 💩I was dealing with
.
Idk about you but that shit is actually priceless to me -To help me see where I can make changes and get me back in action so I can achieve my goals!!
.
This is why working one on one with a coach is sooo important. Some of us let simple stuff we can change HOLD US BACK FOR YEARS!! YEARSSSS smh
.
A couple months ago,I invested my last few $$ in my coach and I’d do it again. She’s taught me biz strategy I had been trying to teach myself (& failing) for years and consistently helps me get over myself when I’m in my 💩 Not to mention I’ve already made my investment back😉
.
I’m becoming a better wife, mother, & businesswoman. I’m a better coach because I have a coach. Your fav guru has a coach. Your fav coach has a coach. There’s a pattern here.👀
.
I’m just saying, INVEST IN A (GOOD) COACH!💁🏾‍♀️

Hey y’all! Allow me to (re)introduce myself:
My name is Jelisa Smith. I’m a newlywed, 20 summin new Mama to the most beautiful, squishy, adorable, lil baby girl✨
.
My fitness journey started about 7 yrs ago. Back then, when I wanted to lose weight I simply wouldn’t eat🙄I was clueless. I became a Cardio Queen, lost all my muscle👎🏾& realized that wasn’t the biz. #IHadNoButt But I kept pushing & conquered my fear of the weight room by printing out @bodybuildingcom workouts & bringing them with me (so no one would talk to me LOL). Eventually I met great p who inspired me to challenge myself more & more. The game changer was changing my nutrition and seeing the changes in my body, energy, and mental #MindBlown 🤯
.
I felt so AMAZING, so I wanted others to feel the same and teach them how to get healthy w/ simple lifestyle changes. So I studied and interned and became a certified personal trainer. I swore I’d never compete bc I didn’t like that so many ppl online were promoting it as the epitome of health, as if anyone who didn’t wasn’t fit. I always believe that fit looked different for everyone. But when you wanna see change somewhere, you become the change, so I started to compete in figure.
.
I competed for 2 years and really enjoyed it (because I love the stage💁🏾‍♀️). I learned a lot about my body and what I will and WON’T do to stay fit & healthy. Competing taught me the power of visualization, belief in myself, & what is possible when you lock in to a goal and see it thru.
. ⏩Years later, I’ve learned Fitness is SO MUCH MORE than the physical! I stopped doing what everyone else was doing and do what works for me.
.
I’ve done extensive self development training, cut off relationships that don’t serve me, gave up ppl pleasing, got married (heyyyy @mit215 💋), became a Mom...I UNAPOLOGETICALLY protect my peace✌🏾
.
Bc of this, I’m more fulfilled than I’ve ever been❤️
.
Now I’m on a mission to empower other Mamas to cultivate divine self care & take care of US while we’re taking care of everyone else. Bc we’re the center of our families. A brighter, future for our babies starts with us. We’re more powerful than we realize. I’m here to remind u✨

This is one of my favorite parts of Marianne Williamson’s poem, “Our Deepest Fear”. It speaks to my SOUL! .
There was a time when I allowed others to dim my light, to disempower me, to make me feel like there was something wrong with being myself. They made me feel as if the things I cared about didn’t matter if they didn’t believe in them. I didn’t realize it, but I was taking on their insecurities as my own. I was a habitual people pleaser and therefore was constantly seeking validation in everyone BUT myself. Constantly conforming. 🤦🏾‍♀️

Yeah...not doing that shit anymore☺️

Inside each of us is a light, and the way we live our lives either illuminates or dims that light. It’s our choice to honor the light inside of us or allow it to shrink. And the gag is, it WILL shrink if we don’t use it.
.
I want my daughter to NEVER be afraid to shine her light. I want her to step out into the world with confidence, OWNING her power, and being fully aware of her value. And I realize that I can’t teach her to be all of those amazing things if I’m not being that person. If I’m showing up small and shying away from my God given power, it would be impossible to make the impact I desire to make while I’m here. .
I refuse to accept that fate. It serves no one. Everyone around me will get the BEST version of me if I’m in flow with what I was out here to do.

I’m on a mission to inspire new and seasoned Moms to own their power. My goal is to empower Moms to take divine care of themselves so they show up as the BEST version of themselves for their kids, spouse/partner, and ultimately the World. We all know the World needs healing. I believe healthier Moms = healthier families = healthier World 🌎.

She’s my biggest inspiration✨

This week was so crazy with being sick, commuting, daycare, even less sleep than normal, clients, decluttering, attempting to establish a routine that works for my family...my head is seriously like 🤯
.
And as hectic as it was and will continue to be (minus the sicknesses), there’s no part of me that wants to quit. It’s not even an option. I refuse to go through life wishing I took the chances I’m taking now! I refuse to look my daughter in the face and tell her “you can be ANYTHING you want”, knowing that I’m not being the person I want to be. I’m choosing to lead by example✊🏾This means getting my shit together in EVERY area of my life.
.
I look at this as a season. ‘‘Tis the season of the (startup) grind. This is the season I gotta go extremely hard at building my business so it grows into something that can support my family. There’s different seasons for different goals in our lives where we need to just put our heads down and WORK. We may be out of balance in some areas but if we set it up right, we’ll get that balance back.
.
So I’ll take the long ass days and damn near sleepless nights. Temporary sacrifices for lifelong benefits❤️ Same thing I tell my clients!
.
Let your kids be your reason, not your excuse, and things will shift. What you once viewed as an obstacle will become an opportunity❤️ Your testimony is YOURS, so own it. Then use it to teach & inspire others✨

Every year during the Holidays, I used to sabotage the progress I made all year by OVER INDULGING on Holidays goodies. I didn’t realize (until after I gained like 10-15 lbs) that I justifying eating all those holiday treats by telling myself that I could make up for it in the New Year. Raise your hand if you were planning on “GETTING HEALTHY” for the New Year?! I think that people make the mistake of making our fitness/health goals, a “New Years Resolution”. It’s like the MOST overused NYE Resolution😂 Seriously, when do our New Years Goals ever really come to fruition?! 🧐 I’ll wait...

Soooo, we pretty much set ourselves up for failure by making our fitness goals a “New Years Resolution”. 🤦🏾‍♀️ Why? We’re subconsciously telling ourselves that it’s not THAT important to us bc we can wait to start. If we REALLY cared, why would we wait until a New Year to get started to get to work?! Why don’t we JUST START?!

I created the #BodyGoals Jumpstart Challenge as a remedy to this problem! I want people to realize that WAITING ain’t WORKING! Be real - Aside from the NYE Resolutions, how many times have you said you’d “wait until ______” to start losing weight or getting in shape?! 🤨
