A few things: 1. There is little in life I find more adorable than kids in matching pajamas, and the holiday PJs at @carters right now top the cuteness list. (Essley has a special holiday message for you all on my IG Stories by the way, regarding these cute PJs.) 2. Today on the blog (link in profile) I'm sharing 8 low-key ways to enjoy the holidays with your kids, along with more pictures of these darling PJs I keep talking about. 3. Happy weekend! #lovecarters #sponsored #christmasPJs

I'm way too excited (like, is this normal?) about our family holiday cards this year you guys. I mean, it's not even Thanksgiving yet, but I genuinely cannot wait even one more day to share them with you. Head over to the blog (link in profile) to see them and read my gushing about them (and about using @postabledotcom's amazing mailing service that they offer along with the hippest card designs on the planet; and no I was not paid to say this, they're just the dopest.) 🎄

Is there anything more exciting than watching cookies bake? (Okay, yeah. There's a lot that's more exciting. But not when you're under 4. 🍪🍪🍪)

Did you guys know today is #WorldKindnessDay? With everything going on in the world lately, I honestly can't think of a better thing to celebrate than kindness. Essley and I talk often about the importance of being kind to others, and I asked her to think of one way she can #ChooseKind everyday. Her answer? "To always smile." Nailed it. It's amazing what you can learn from a 3 and a half year old. #ChooseSmiles @crest @wonderthemovie #ad

Man do I love this little guy! I also worry about him and his big sis. (Hey, I'm a mom. That's what we do.) Because of that, coupled with the fact that I travel often and have lots of packages delivered to my house for work, home security is important to me. I refuse to live a life fueled by fear, but I'm also realistic about the fact that break-ins do happen. Today on the blog, (link in profile) I'm sharing my personal recommendations for how to best protect your home and family, and teaming up with @blinkforhome to give away an amazing 2 Camera Indoor Security System and a Blink XT Outdoor Security System to one lucky person! #blinkforhome #ad #giveaway

Happy weekend friends! I was thinking this morning about how, despite the fact that the holiday season is such a hectic time, there are also blissful moments of comfort and relaxation that just don't exist any other time of year. And included in these moments is an activity that has been a long time tradition in my family - holiday baking. One of our favorite baked sides (that I can’t wait to serve on Thanksgiving) is these super easy and insanely delicious Parmesan Rosemary Crescent Rolls made with Pillsbury Original Crescent Rolls from @walmart. SO good you guys. (Visit my blog to get the recipe and read all of my sappy thoughts about holiday baking with my fam.) #madeathome #ad #givemeallthecarbs

Sometimes I'll be out running errands and I'll notice how stressed everyone (myself included, I'm sure) looks. And sometimes I'll smile at someone, and they'll smile back, and suddenly, the world seems a little kinder. I notice how often my kids smile too, and how wonderful a moment can feel just by seeing that. Smiling is powerful, guys. And that's why I'm stoked to join @crest and @wonderthemovie to #ChooseSmiles and #ChooseKind to celebrate this upcoming #WorldKindnessDay. #Ad

Honest motherhood moment (and a question for you!). This guy is 22 months old (today!) and is still nursing. Our expressions in this photo are a result of him pretending he wanted to snuggle with me when all he really wanted was to pull my top down to get to the boob. 😐It's mostly just at night, but that also means we both wake up several times a night (and mama is tired). I nursed his sister until 18 months and was certain I'd only do a year-ish with him, but then life happened. When he was diagnosed with epilepsy last year I vowed to nurse him as long as he wanted, but now that I'm starting to think he'd nurse until he was a freaking teenager if I let him, I'm wondering if I need to push a little harder toward a solid wean over the next couple of months. Mamas who breastfed, when did you decided to wean, and if you did it later like us, how did you do it?

I tend to overwhelm myself (in a big way) during November and December (#ad), and then end up feeling disappointed when I don't live up to my own expectations. (I kind of have a feeling many of you can relate.) This year, however, the holiday season is going to be different for me. I made a decision to stay in the present as much as possible. I'm going to appreciate quiet moments and simple pleasures - like a few minutes in the evening, after the kids go to bed, to relax in my pajamas and toast to the holiday season with a glass of my favorite @CHWines (scroll to see them in all their delicious glory). I'm talking all about it over on the blog. Click the link in my profile to read. #CHWineHoliday

I just came across this picture from last fall. Who are those babies?! I don't care how cliche it is to say it, time goes by way too fast with kids. Mind blowing.

This is the face of someone who is very, very excited to make her own nut butters and nut milks. #ad (I mean, the amount of almonds my family and consumes weekly via almond butter and almond milk reaches multiple gallon levels, I'm certain.) And The NutraMilk is going to make it possible for me to do this in 2-3 steps and less than 15 minutes. I am SO IN. I'll be sharing more (along with one of our favorite recipes using almond butter) on the blog next week. @thenutramilk #TheNutraMilk #Pmedia

Now that Essley is almost 4, she is big into helping me bake. And baking together for the holidays has become a special tradition of our own. We light spiced candles, drink hot apple cider, turn on holiday music, and bake our famous Parmesan Rosemary Crescent Rolls together, made with Pillsbury Original Crescent Rolls from @walmart. It's pretty fantastic. The process of making them, watching them rise and turn golden in the oven, smelling the delicious scent of them baking, and then getting to enjoy them as a family has become synonymous with the holidays for us. It’s the little things, guys. I mean for real. It is. Get the recipe for this goodness on my blog today. Link in profile. #madeathome #ad

The month is busy with travel for our family (AD), with two road trips (Indianapolis and Madison) and one international trip (the Dominican Republic). And while travel has definitely changed for us since the pre-kids days (I mean, we're not exactly hopping on 24 hour flights to Australia or embarking on spontaneous week long road trips anymore), we've really made the effort to continue to incorporate it into our lives. It wasn't easy at first, but over time, I've learned a few things that make traveling with little ones a much smoother process - like to always (always!) have more snacks than I think I need, to bring clothing for all weather possibilities packed into packing cubes to save space, to arrive early to the airport if we're flying or leave earlier than planned if we're driving (kids make everything take longer, especially travel), and to always bring our @oxotot Air Stroller. You probably know OXO for their awesome kitchen products (we own a ton of them), but they also make the coolest baby products in their OXO Tot line, like our beloved high chair that both kids have used, and this incredibly compact stroller that opens and closes in one motion, and easily folds down into backpack size (click link in my profile for more). It's freaking amazing you guys. We throw it in the backseat for road trips, and carry it over our shoulder right onto the plane when we're flying. And we use it for our walks and errand running too. Essley loves to be a big girl and push Emmett in it "all by herself" - and it's so lightweight that she actually can. (She also likes to stop every five minutes to play peek-a-boo with him, as you can see from this shot of our daily walk. Like I said above, everything takes longer with kids.) Those of you who travel with little ones what tips and tricks can you share? #airstroller

There is very little my kids love more than traveling to go see their daddy at work. And I'm pretty sure Emmett (aka the dancing king in the lower right corner) thought he was the one on stage at soundcheck last night.

Now that Essley goes to preschool for longer days, she always comes home asking for a snack. (AD) And after a dozen times of her requesting cookies or other sugar-filled foods and refusing my suggestions of apple slices or carrots, I quickly realized I needed to change things up. I ended up talking to my mom, who somehow raised my sister and me on a diet of health conscious, low sugar food in an era where our classmates' lunch boxes contained bologna on white bread sandwiches, cheese puffs, and packaged pastries. My biggest question for her was how she convinced young kids to eat snacks that weren't loaded with sugar and preservatives. Her answer was simple: she made it fun. So I did just that. And it worked. Click on the link in my profile to see how I made an apple ladybug who likes to go swimming in @Stonyfield YoKids® organic yogurt (among other fun snacks), and how it turned snack time around for us. #StonyfieldYoKids
