How’s your sleep? Do you snore, gasp for breath, wake up throughout the night or fall asleep during the day? These are actually signs of a sleep disorder. Cape Fear Valley Sleep Center is the only center accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) in Cumberland County. It is directed by Sam Fleishman, M.D., who has been board-certified in sleep medicine since 1997. The Sleep Center staff treats a variety of sleep disorders, including sleep apnea, insomnia, narcolepsy (daytime sleepiness), periodic limb movement disorder and restless legs syndrome. Sleep disorders are serious. Left untreated, they may result in a serious medical condition, such as heart disease, high blood pressure and stroke. For more information or to schedule an appointment, please call (910) 615-6389. #sleep #sleepy #sleeping #troublesleeping #wideawake #needsleep #sleepapnea #insomnia #narcolepsy #medical #healthcare #capefearvalleyhealth #support #community #follow

Behind the scenes, this team is helping a child through their very first surgery. Behind the scenes, this team is removing the cancer from a mother’s breast. Behind the scenes, this team works hard to provide exceptional surgical services for our community. Patients often enter there fast asleep, unaware of the professionals taking care of them. winner : Best Team | submitted by: Cheryl Moore Hard work, fun and love at HSR OR. reason this picture was submitted Because I love my Highsmith Family!!! Getting up at 4:30 every morning to get ready for work is hard enough. But knowing that I get to work with some of the best people I have ever met, definitely makes it easier. I have only been a part of the Cape Fear family for 2 years but I can honestly say I have found a home with my Highsmith family. Working in the operating room can be stressful, but when you are fortunate to work with a group of people that you can trust and truly know what it means to be a team. I sent in a collage of photos because when I started looking at all the photos I could not pick just one that shows how much this group means to me. We are not only a work family but we are also family outside the walls of the operating room. It may be a small group but you could not find a more caring, supporting, funny, hardworking group of people. Cheryl won 12 hours of PTO and an iPad mini! One of these five will be selected to be the best overall… Vote for your favorite at Facebook.com/capefearvalley or on Instagram @capefearvalley.
