From a series I worked on last year in a bazaar in Istsravshan, Tajikistan. The roof of the bazaar was weathered and crumbling, letting in small shafts of light, that revealed quick glimpses of Uzbeks and Tajiks going about their day.

#Repost @world_wildlife from a photo and video project I shot earlier this year ・・・
In 2015, WWF and Apple kicked off a five-year project designed to help China—the world’s largest producer and consumer of paper products—reduce its environmental footprint by producing paper products from responsibly managed forests within its own borders. In July, Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certificates were awarded for more than 320,000 acres of forest land in southern China. Nearly two-thirds of the land is owned and managed by one private company, Maoyuan Company. The remainder is owned and managed by Guangxi Qinlian Forestry Company, a state government entity. The land includes semi-natural forests and forest plantations.

One of China's most famous poets, Libai, engraved on the dam of a Shenzhen reservoir. Born in the Tang Dynasty in what today counts as Kyrgyzstan. "The birds have vanished down the sky.
Now the last cloud drains away.

We sit together, the mountain and me,
until only the mountain remains."

A section of Shenzhen port seen from the air. With all the current buzz over China's 'One Belt, One Road' projects, I wanted to share this image of a key port in China's 'maritime Silk Road.' Shenzhen has one of the busiest and fastest growing container ports in the world. Container ports indirectly affect almost every avenue of modern life - I highly recommend Alexis Madrigal's new(ish) podcast titled 'Containers' to learn more about this fascinating space @alexismadrigal
