Window display. For a country that has really delicious meat products and cooks it very well, it’s also extremely vegetarian friendly. Every spot we’ve eaten at, from super tiny hole in the wall to a large restaurant, all offer a vegetarian option. I’m really glad i was not vegetarian on this trip though. 🤣 #ilanhoneymoon #portugalshopwindows #porto #portugal #travel

I don’t think I’ve ever eaten this much octopus in a short amount of time. The restaurants here really know how to make it tender and delicious. This meal included a glass of wine, soup and this plate of roasted octopus, potatoes and a salad for €5. That $5.88. Seafood here is unreal and the prices are friendly on your wallet. #porto #portofood #seafood #portugal #ilanhoneymoon

The goodies at Balhao marketplace. Right now it’s going through renovations so there are lots of empty stalls, but there are still goodies to see and try. Ian and i are doing only child time this morning. He’s off exploring some abandoned buildings and getting dirty, as i explore more of the city and take pictures. We will link up later to finish out our last day in Porto. #ilanhoneymoon #marketplace #porto #portugal

It’s been almost two weeks and i still can’t believe I’m here. This is so beautiful and incredible and i feel so grateful to experience this with Ian. I get emotional talking about it because this is a huge deal. To travel internationally and experience a completely different culture and learning so much. It was beyond what i ever allowed myself to dream about. Now i know i can set bigger goals and dream big because it can happen. I️ chose Portugal because the first time I️ went to Sausalito, I️ looked over the homes on the hillside and thought this is what Europe must look like. When I️ researched and saw that what Portugal’s coastal cities looked like, I knew I️ had to be there. The tiles, the homes along the river. It spoke to me. This has been the most amazing experience and I️ wish I️ can capture all of it. But I️ will always have the memories. #ilanhoneymoon #portugal #porto

Olá Oporto. Took the train to Porto this morning. We are calling this portion of the trip the true relaxation one. We both don’t know how to chill out when traveling. Hopefully Porto will teach us. #porto #portugal #ilanhoneymoon

Bola de Berlim is a donut filled with silky thick egg creme and is sold in every bakery. They’re dusted with regular and powdered sugar which get all over your fingers and face, but you won’t care. These babies are heavy and so delicious. Bread and pastries in Portugal are so good! The bakers know what they’re doing and we have been eating lots and lots of breads. Mmmmmm. .

We decided to take a long walk this morning from Algés to Lisbon and on the way we stopped by Pastéis de Belém to get these precious egg tarts known as pastéis de nata. We have had some from other bakeries, but the recommendations are true, the true original is the best. Nice and warm from the oven with cinnamon and powder sugar made this the perfect treat as we continued our walk. This bakery has been in production since 1837 and is ran by the descendants of the family that began making the original Pastéis de Belém. .

Sunset at 25 de Abril Bridge. Did this picture make you think we were in San Francisco? This bridge is inspired by both the Golden Gate Bridge and The Bay Bridge. Both the Bay Bridge and the 25 de Abril Bridge were built by the same company and it is painted in the same orange used for the Golden Gate Bridge. Fun facts! #lisbontrains #amolisboa #ilanhoneymoon

We did it! We found Vietnamese food in Lisbon. It was actually owned by Chinese Portuguese and i was very excited to speak Vietnamese to them, but nom, they shook their heads and said they were not Vietnamese. The Pho smells like pho, but the traditional Pho flavors are not there. It was good noodle soup and what was interesting was that they used chili oil with their hoisin sauce. Thankfully there was some fish sauce at the table. Guess Ian and i will have to move here and open a Pho shop. 🤗 #ilanhoneymoon #lisbonfood #vietfoodinlisbon #lisbontravels #amolisboa #lisboa
