Isn't it great that Dubai municipality made a beach accessible at night with large spot lights and lifeguards on duty!

A 'Dhol Tasha' player who blew up his drum. Too much fun!
'Dhol Tasha Pathaks' are very energetic troupes of drum players that are part of the celebrations during Ganesh festival. The rhythms are high speed, high volume, high fun!

I'll post a series of pictures from the Ganesha Festival celebrations in Pune, India. This festival is celebrated in a big way in Maharashtra state where Mumbai and Pune are. The idol of god Ganesha is everywhere during this festival in many small and large makeshift temples/stands. Here, on top of a pickup truck following the troupe of drummers.
Pune's 130 year old vegetable and fruit market, Phule, was closing for the day but one tiny vegetable stall caught my attention. Raised from the floor by a few steps, it looked like an immaculate time capsule. Filled with interesting things and decorated with old photos. While I was admiring it, the owner showed up and, acknowledged me, took his shoes off and climbed the step to sit proudly and comfortably where he's always sat. Proud of his shop, he got into position for his portait. I'm glad such people still exist.
