Reacher had his final eye exam looking for ROP today and all looks good!! Thank goodness he doesn’t have to have these painful eye exams done anymore. It’s incredible how strong these preemies are. They endure so much in the first several months. He amazes me by his bravery and strength each and every day.

After 42 days, 1 hour and 36 minutes in the NICU and 49 days in the hospital, Reacher has come home. He was 36 weeks 4 days gestation (or 6 weeks adjusted) when he came home last Wednesday. So, he was able to come home nearly a month early!

We'd like to give a special shoutout to all of our 5C NICU Primaries and doctors that cared for Reacher and helped him grow!

We have so many wonderful days ahead of us!

Perhaps the prettiest and most delicious hot chocolate that I've ever had. #snooze #thankyou #fall
We want to celebrate #neonatalnursesday today by expressing how grateful and thankful we are for each and every nurse that has helped our baby boy. We don't know what we would've done without our NICU nurses. They have helped Reacher grow and thrive these last 37 days. They have done so with love, strength and professionalism. They have supported us and educated us on all that we need to have a solid start when we go home. Having a preemie isn't quite the same as bringing home a term baby. We have some mild hurdles ahead of us still, but we are in this together. We appreciate all of the support! We love our nurses! #preemie #blessed #nurses #weloveournurses #nicu #niculife #thankful #september15

It's a good thing that we already do this... especially with a preemie on his way home.

Here we sit day after day in the NICU watching and waiting for our sweet baby boy to develop and grow so that we can take him home. It's not fair that he was born nearly 10 weeks early. It's not fair that we can't hold him all day - everyday. It's not fair that he faces challenges at a time when he should be safely growing in my womb. It's just not fair. But, each day this little miracle grows healthier and stronger and we get one day closer to taking him home. He inspires me to keep going because he is the strongest person that I've ever met... and he's only 27 days old. He has been through more than I could ever imagine and he's handling it like a champ. I love this little guy more than words can say. He is my heart - my soul - my everything. I love you Reacher James and I couldn't be more proud to be your mama. 💙

This little angel has brought so much love and happiness into our lives. How did we live without him before? He's our everything. He's so strong and he keeps us strong through this process. This is a start to a beautiful life. One more amazing than we could've ever dreamed. We love you buddy, more than words could ever express. 💙

We just took our first infant CPR class. We now know what to do, but hope to never use these new found skills. Oh, and our instructor was awesome!

I feel so loved. This beautiful lady took time off of work and from her husband (@bigtimthebarber ) to fly out to CO from TN to help throw the baby shower of my dreams! If that isn't love... this girl has been my pal since we were 5 yrs old. She's been there for me in the good times and the bad. I'm so thankful for her friendship and sisterhood. You and Tim have blessed us so much and we can't thank you enough. It was a wonderful day and I will cherish it forever! Thank you. 💙

Ok #colorado , if you're in need of some DELICIOUS baked goods, my sis @jesseeemarieee knows what she's doing. She made some beautiful and yummy macarons for our baby shower this last weekend and they were a hit!
I've never been great with putting how I feel into words. I can't express how thankful I am to @jessicacogbill and @alalora33 for giving us the baby shower of our dreams! I mean, they paid attention to every detail. I'm truly blown away. I appreciate every minute, dollar and drop of sweat that went into making this day amazing. Baby Reacher is so loved already. And a huge thanks to everyone who came to support and help us celebrate Reachers early arrival. We felt so loved and we are truly blessed for the time and gifts that people have shared with us. We are so touched. Thank you to all! Our hearts are full. 💕

So, I've been MIA for a couple of weeks, but for good reason. As many of you know, I was struggling my entire 2nd trimester with all sorts of issues. Well, turns out that I had severe preeclampsia and let me tell you, it's TERRIBLE! I went into my 29 wk checkup on Aug. 2nd and shared the issues that I had been having - expecting for them to blow me off as always. They almost did blow me off again until my urine results came back with a +4 protein. That's when everything changed. Before we knew it, I was in labor and delivery in a gown and hooked up to all sorts of IV's. We were told that we were being transferred to a Level 4 hospital and I wouldn't leave until I gave birth. We were shocked! I was only 29 weeks (about 6 1/2 months) - he wasn't due until October 14th! And what the heck does +4 in my urine mean people?! Well, I was transported to the new hospital and there we had the answers that we were looking for for the entire 2nd trimester!! I had severe preeclampsia!! If you don't know what that is, it's awful! My entire body swelled (nearly doubled in size) and my blood pressure was through the roof at dangerous highs! The only "cure" for it is delivering the placenta, therefore delivering the baby. It was so scary. In the end, we managed to keep our son in my womb for an entire week longer, just enough to strengthen his lungs and eyes. It was a surprise and certainly wasn't our birth plan, but it was all worth it because we have the most precious gift I could ever ask for. Reacher James is my heart 💙 he is everything I could ever ask for. Best of all, he was born on our 9th wedding anniversary! Thank you @ronjo84 for giving me the best boy ever and thank you for being our rock in this crazy time! I love you both dearly and I'm so excited to share the next chapter with the two of you.
The crib is built! Now all we need to find is a glider and a ceiling fan. Getting so close! #29weekspregnant

Playing with the baby (he moves the remote) while I rest my swollen feet. I can't believe that I'm in my third trimester already!

I'm currently 27 weeks pregnant and after a really long month of wearing this heart monitor, I get to take it off tomorrow 🙌🏼🎉 I wear it day and night only taking it off for a quick shower. In fact, I sleep plugged into the wall each night 😳. I'm still having complications, but I'm continuing to work with the doctors to monitor baby and I. It's all we can do 😘
Finally had the chance to park in one of these special spots for the first time yesterday. I have to say, it felt good! It also helped because I still can't walk far without losing my breath. We are officially registered at a few stores!
