The hot Louisiana sun is already taking a toll on my pumpkins, but this Virginia girl will always battle the heat to get her fall on 😆😎 #pumpkinlady #fall #fallinlouisiana

Lots of cute #classroomdecor going on in the latest blog post tonight 📓I had the pleasure of making some fun things, like a modern pegboard and "house" reading nook, for @jenniferbellewoodley 's classroom. You gotta see it all 🙌🏻

Always a favorite treat to pick up for my girls and surprise them at the end of a school day 👯
Fall is in the air 🍂🍁and I'm excited to share that I'm hosting a fall inspired DIY workshop, The Crafty Social, on October 7th here in Southwest Louisiana 🙌🏻 Click on the link in my profile to read all about it 🎥: @clarkdmiller #thecraftysocialworkshop #gatheringpeople
Be still my heart 💖 I'm loving these #corbel wall lamps I just made for Miss E's room! And I'm sharing the diy on the blog so you can make them too. It's so easy! The corbels I used are actually bookends I picked up @magnolia They were perfect for this project. Share if you make any 😊 #happytogetherbyjess #diy #magnoliamarket #walllamp #walldecor #homedecor #homestyle #girlsroomdecor #hobbylobby #lowes
Well the past week has been a whirlwind to say the least. We sat and watched the storm hit Houston and then make its way right over us here is southwest Louisiana and continue on. Thankfully we had no flooding personally, but the devastation in areas as close as the city over has been tremendous. We were finally able to get out on the roads Thursday and have been here and there helping at many organizations as often as we can, from buying supplies to cooking meals for evacuees to filling up sandbags. The resilience of the people here is just inspiring though. And oh how these people love their neighbors. Even today, I was driving home and was able to witness a huge gathering of people with their trucks and boats filled with supplies as they were headed out to continue on with rescues. Thank you to everyone that has been donating financially to local places who are helping the evacuees, who are bringing/sending supplies, who are praying, who are serving. If you're not local and are looking for somewhere to give, I am more than happy to share of some places here and in Houston that are hosting evacuees. This photo is by my friend @clarkdmiller You can visit his site and see more images he captured from Orange, TX.

A new favorite daily activity for my girls is going to the garden to see if there's anything good to eat. Today's highlight was finding a pumpkin that's starting to grow! I threw our old pumpkins in a corner of our yard last fall and now we are just letting them grow and do their thing.

Did you happen to catch that #quilt I shared as I was making it on my story? Well, it's all done and blogged about! I used only fabric from my stash and totally winged this thing. Only the scrap geese blocks were a pattern. I really enjoyed just making it up as I went. #babyquilt #quilting #impromptusewing #sewing #sewingfun #fabric

And just like that another school year is done. My sweet baby graduated kindergarten and my sweet oldest finished fourth grade. It's always bittersweet 🎓 But, fun times are ahead!

We are prepping for the last week of school which is also going to be the busiest 😁 It's teacher appreciation week, spirit week, and since my girls have summer birthdays they wanted to do that this week too. I let them pick what they wanted to do and loved watching as they participated in the making part. Miss J wanted horse brownies to share. She said tomorrow will be her most favorite day of school 😆😆😆

Here is a picture of one of the four planter boxes that @nekodaleecarpentry and I built. It was fun designing them to fit the space and come up with a way to create a shelf on the inside so we didn't have to fill the whole thing with dirt (I used treated fence boards for that part 🙌🏻). Then @ash.ardoin gave us a great tip to add the extra trim on the side which really finishes them off. There have already been people stopping by and trying to figure out how to make them for themselves 😆 #planters #diy #woodworking #foxtailfern #oysterplant #outdoordecor #churchmakeover #churchdecor #gatheringpeople #buildtogether
