"Prague’s oldest bridge was built to replace the Judith Bridge that had been badly damaged by floods in 1342. The Stone, or #prague Bridge, called Charles Bridge since 1870, was begun in 1357 by Charles IV and was completed in 1402. The bridge is built of sandstone blocks, flanked at each end by fortified towers (Lesser Town Bridge Towers, Old Town Bridge Tower). From 1683 to 1928, 30 statues of saints were carved to decorate the bridge, the most famous of which is the statue of St John of Nepomuk."

The limited view of #Brussels from the Atomium, the snow and fog may hinder the view, but we enjoyed it nonetheless!

When in #Brussels, do see the Atomium! Opened in 1958, it has just recently went through a major renovation and facelift. On a clear day, you get a great view of the city of Brussels. Unfortunately for us, it was snowing and foggy when we went up, but the (limited) view was magical indeed.

The Sestiere Castello. Here, the Venetians go about their everyday life, away for the hustle and bustle of tourists in San Marco. Clothes are hanged from opposite blocks, locals mingle with one another playing music using all sorts of instruments, and children playing in the streets. A great sight and experience, definitely not listed as a "must see" in travel guides.

There's just something about European train stations that are so magical and captivating, so full of life and movement, but at the same time, so peaceful.

".. the smell of canals and cigarette smoke, all the people sitting outside the cafés drinking beer, saying their r's and g's in a way I'd never learn." -John Green, TFIOS.
I'd give anything to be back there, now.
