Spending some quality time with Hans Egede when the #NorthernLights started right after sunset last night. I can only imagine if we could see this amazing lights in the biggest city in the country, what it must be like out in the countryside! ⠀

Another night of crazy show from the northern sky today in #ColourfulNuuk. Hans Egede, the founder of #Nuuk looks down on his city under the bright #northernlights tonight. It's going to be very hard to leave #Greenland....⠀

Welcome to Nuuk, #Greenland! Vestnorden Travel Mart is off to a great start. I'm cold and sleepy but it's totally worth it. ⠀

Today we went out to Nuuk fjords to look at some rock formations and floating icebergs. All the mountain peaks here and fjords here look like they don't belong in this world. I felt like I was visiting some other planet (reading "The Martian" on the way here also triggered that imagination a little...). I only saw a fraction of #Greenland and I'm already amazed. It's truly an incredible place. ⠀

Thank you for the photo @thejourneyman3!

Greetings from Nuuk 🇬🇱! ⠀
It's my first time visiting this amazing country. I toured the town a little and got some insight from the Greenland National Museum, and I was blown away by the similarities of Greenland's and #Alaska's native culture and their connection to #Mongolia. Who knew? I also love all the colors of @colourful_nuuk! I'm very much looking forward to exploring much more of this place. ⠀

I'm on my way for another adventure to....@ilovegreenland 🇬🇱! I'll be participating Vestnorden Travel Mart. Currently, I'm in Iceland, transiting to #Nuuk, Greenland shortly. It was a redeye flight from San Francisco to Reykjavik with @WOWair. The price was right, but it was certainly strange that they left the light on the whole night when it's a 'redeye' flight. It made me irritated because, well, the Northern Lights came out! It was so strong, I could see it through my airplane window with the entire cabin light on. It was green on the top and purple on the bottom. It was just wow. I made an effort (and made some scenes too) to capture the beautiful moment but it was very challenging, shooting a long exposure shot through a window from a bright room. So, this shows my desperate effort to make the best out of it.... Nonetheless, it was beautiful and magical.⠀

The joy of living in Alaska - you can go hiking on glaciers whenever you want. We went to #MatanuskaGlacier, about a two-hour drive from #Anchorage downtown. Glacier is one of my favorite things in nature. It's just so awe-inspiring! But remember to be really careful, because of the glacial silt, fine and round particles of rock or clay, you can never know how deep the water pools are. Remember to place your feet on a solid ice. For the first timers, it's important to go with a guide or someone who has an extensive experience. ⠀

Isn't this like the prettiest place you've ever seen? This is Eklutna Lake, about an hour away from my new home #Anchorage. I was here about one year ago, promising to myself that I will be back. Now I'm here. Dreams do really come true.
Greetings from #Anchorage! Tonight we are getting an amazing sunset over our many mountain ranges. I'm lucky enough to see the highest mountain peak in North America, the great one, @Denalinps from my living room. It's an enchanting place, Anchorage is.
Greetings from #Anchorage Alaska! I landed 10 days ago. I've been busy getting things done, like getting used to this time zone! I'm thrilled to call this beautiful place home. It's a wonderful feeling. To welcome the relocation, my friends took me to an amazing hike, to Reed Lakes in #HatcherPass, just an hour from Anchorage downtown. This is just a tiny part of #Alaska but it was truly one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen. I'm very excited to explore my 'home state' and discover more beautiful places. It's a wonderful feeling.⠀

From @DiscoverKyrgyzstan to #Mongolia, I had many close encounters with horses. After I got hurt from a #horseback riding incident two years ago, I was a bit afraid to go on a horseback again. I was extremely nervous in the beginning but eventually, I fell back in love again. I remembered how much I loved walking with the horses, like in a moving meditation. The close contact, right rhythm, looking at the scenery from a different point of view... it's very charming. Longing for my days to go back to the wild and walk with the horses again. ⠀

Song-Kul Lake #Kyrgyzstan 🇰🇬⠀
A horse and me, we trekked over the Jalgyz Karagay to get to #SongKul Lake. As I had an unfortunate horse-related accident two years prior, I was extremely careful for the entire two days. The amazing view was a great distraction! Especially when we walked over the rocky hills with many other riders, I was pretty nervous. I was talking to myself 'Thank goodness I have a travel insurance'. But actually, horse riding isn't that dangerous (at least I don't think), as long as everyone remembers what to do/ not to do. I'm happy to report that I got off the horse in one piece, without a scratch. Horses are a very sensitive animal, and I felt like we bonded by the end of the trip. Now I'm longing for a longer horse-trek again!⠀

Looking out the night sky of #Gobi through my ger door. So this wraps up the grand 10 days of #Mongolia 🇲🇳. How was it? How can I put it... I can't say enough how amazing this country is. It's almost pity that I only got to know this place just now. Only a short flight away from Korea, there is this majestic place that caused me homesick already. The ever-changing landscape, nomadic life, people's deep love of nature almost brought me to tears at times. Also how can I not mention the amazing Gobi that I've known my whole life-finally visited this wonderful place. I haven't even left yet but I already miss it. It's just one of those places. Also it was almost funny how everyone thought I was one of their own 🇲🇳. See you soon Mongolia!

Mongolia 🇲🇳 When we played dressed up and couldn't keep the straight face. How do you like my 16th century queen's attire? I've been told, numerous times, that I look so much like Mongolians. I'm starting to think that my family is actually from this region?!
Takhi horse of Mongolia 🐴🇲🇳
-
Takhi horse is one of the seven wild horses in the world. They've never been domesticated in history. The horses were believed to be extinct but it was reintroduced thanks to the hard effort of researchers. Now #Takhi horses are living in #Hustai National Park but they are slowly transitioning them to their origin hometown, Gobi Desert. You know what the crazy thing is? They look like Zebras and they have Zebra-like stripes on their legs. You see? Land of wild horses!! .

Greetings from my new country, #Mongolia! I arrived Ulaanbaatar from Bishkek by 4am flight, and right into the #Naadam Festival, eriin gurvan naadam, the game of three men. I loved seeing the wrestlers that I only seen from photos before! I'll be traveling in Mongolia for 2 weeks with @UnquoteTravel. Time to empty my memory cards and fill them up with new images!⠀

Song Kol Lake 🇰🇬⠀
Sunset at the famous Song Kul Lake was just wow. Sun setting over the yurts, mountains, and horses created a painting-like scenery. How beautiful is this? ⠀
