Night harvesting Malbec, one of the earlier ripening Bordeaux varieties. Picking grapes at night when it's cool keeps the crew more comfortable and saves energy because there is no need pre-chill the grapes before they are crushed. Instead we let Nature’s refrigeration cool the grapes which keeps sugar levels stable and helps avoid oxidation and spoilage. #PineRidgeWine #EstataVineyard #stagsleapdistrict #Malbec #NightHarvest #Harvest2017 #ItsfromNapa #winegrowing #winemaking #vineyards #Viticulture #Sustainable #SustainableFarming

By March pruning is nearing completion and we are anticipating bud break. Our vineyard manager tells us this is one of the most important activities that takes place in the vineyard because it sets the stage for the upcoming vintage and allows the crew the opportunity to inspect the vines for the upcoming growing season. Balance is key, determining the number of buds per cane means we will have a balanced, high-quality yield. Our crew has an intimate connection with the vines tailoring pruning details vine by vine with the goal of expressing the exceptional distinction of each site. #pineridgevineyards #stagsleapdistrict #pruningvineyards #terroir
