Just being honest here: We now live in a time when mass shootings are less shocking to us than celebrity heart attacks. At first, when I realized how my gut was being wrenched at the news of Tom Petty's death, I even felt guilty. My soul hurts for the families of those killed in LV but it didn't feel CONNECTED to me in any way. Maybe that's something I need some grace for. After all, those were human lives. All I know is that the time I have spent listening to, singing, playing, BLASTING Tom Petty songs over my lifetime has created a deep sense of relationship for me. And yes, the music will still be there. But I'll hear it differently now.

How important? Because I just found this while doing some cleaning and I have no idea what it's for.
July 31, 2017 - Marina Bay at Dillon Reservoir, Frisco, CO. This fantastic wife of mine single-handedly planned and booked the incredible vacation our family has been on for the past two weeks. I'm so glad to be sharing these experiences with her!

Thinking about the brilliant show a much older Bob Dylan put on last night in Jackson, MS. Not my first Dylan show but possibly my favorite so far. (Photo credit: Don Huntstein via WSJ) #dylan
