I’m always a little hesitant about ordering dishes from the vegetarian section of a menu at a non-vegetarian restaurant, but this sweet potato #taco pick last not definitely did NOT dissapoint! Training for a long-distance race is all about flexibility! Following the plan perfectly is an unrealistic goal, because life happens. Sometimes there will have to be rearrangements and compromise. Sometimes we might even have to miss a run altogether, and that’s OK! A few missed runs here and there will NOT break you on race day if you truly and honestly put all the other work in 👊🏻 •

Since I’m going to be traveling this weekend I woke up early this morning so I could check my long run off my list and not have to worry about it for the rest of the weekend🏃🏼‍♀️ I did 6 miles on the treadmill while it was still dark out and 5 miles outside once the sun came up, because 11 miles on the treadmill = ☠️ I’m glad I got it done, but now the challenge will be staying awake through the rest of the day to finish work 😂 •

Also, waking up before the sun to work out always reminds me of my early-morning weekend swim practices. Getting up at 5AM was never easy (especially on a Saturday), but I knew that putting the work in at practice would make me a better swimmer, and that feeling of exhaustion afterward always made me feel like I’d accomplished something worthwhile for the day 💪🏻✨ Who else did sports when they were younger? This morning’s workout included 3 easy miles + 3 strides and then 20 minutes of trying to find a good leaf for this photo 😂 All of sudden slightly faster paces (for me) are feeling so much easier than they were just a few weeks ago and over the summer. It’s easy to forget that taking some time off means you have to work your way back up, with running you can’t just always pick up where you left off. You have to #WorkForIt 💪🏻 •

I’m over here still obsessing over this fallish apple and honey-roasted almond salad 🍁🍎Not ashamed to admit that I’ve eaten it for #lunch most days the past few weeks. Sometimes simple dinners are the best dinners! I didn’t have much to work with tonight, but I knew I had to celebrate #NationalPastaDay, so I stirred in some butter, broccoli, chick peas and garlic powder and it ended up being one of the best super-easy dinners I’ve had in a while 👌🏻How did y’all celebrate this yummy, carb-o-licious day? 🍝#hungryrunner #morepastaplease #eatallthecarbs #andsomeveggiestoo
I swear, once the temperatures dip below 60* F, my body is like: Oh OK, we can actually do this now. Otherwise, it’s like serious struggle bus all the damn time. Maybe I should just contain my running to the fall and winter only? Just kidding, that’s a terrible idea! ☠️


Today’s workout was 4 miles with 6x1-minute intervals at 10K pace (w/ 2 min. recovery between each). IDK what my 10K pace is right now and I’m not super worried about it, nor am I training for a goal time, so I just picked up the pace a bit for the intervals. All in all, a pretty sweet #speedworkout on the first morning that felt not like fall, but WINTER! •

And yes, I wore crops, long sleeves AND gloves. Who else has hands that FREEZE up fast and kind of hurt if it’s the slightest bit chilly out? #runchat #phillyhalftraining #irunthisbody #tuesdaymiles

It’s been a while since I’ve done an evening #run, but with this annoying, not fall weather (read humid and disgusting) the only comfortable options are treadmill or #run while the sun is down. •

Yesterday I chose to run after work, which presented all of the usual motivational challenges (I DID NOT want to work out at all 🙅🏼), but once I got started and got into the groove I found some motivation and of course ended up enjoying every mile (except the first one, which I was on the struggle bus for the entire time)! •

Would you rather workout in the morning or in the evening, and why do you prefer one over the other? I’m interested to hear your reasoning!
Me: Its #Friday, we’re going out to eat, it’s nice out, maybe I’ll change into a dress 👗💅🏻 Also me: It’s Friday, we’re going out to eat, maybe I’ll change into nicer black leggings and and a top that allows me to continue wearing a sports bra 👱🏻‍♀️🙃

It has lettuce (obviously), grilled chicken, honey roasted almond slivers from #TraderJoes (so addicting), feta cheese, little bites of honey crisp apple (my fav kind!) and Annie’s lite honey mustard dressing 💛 •

Happy Friday!! I was lucky enough to log 4 breezy miles this morning ☀️🍁One of the first mornings this year that actually felt like fall 🙌🏻 It was glorious! I wanted to post this before I started working this morning, but Bailey must have eaten something weird last night because the poor pup couldn't hold her breakfast down, so my morning was spent dealing with that rather than relaxing with a post-run coffee 🙈Thankfully she is fine now, though! Hi friends 👋🏻It's been a while, I know. I'm not sorry, because it's nice to take a break form social media every once in a while! I know y'all know what I'm talking about 😉


Anyway, here's what's been going on with me the past few weeks --> Mark and I shot our engagement photos with @staceylynnphoto a few weekends back and we are so in love with every single shot she sent us, including this one 📷❤️


I'm still training for the #PhillyHalfMarathon and I'm pretty freakin' stoked about it since I haven't raced since May 🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏼‍♀️What I'm not stoked about though, is that fall weather has yet to show its face 😓Can we get some cool temps please? 🙏🏻


Outside of work and half training, the rest of my life is consumed by taking care of @baileytheaussiemix 🐶aka making sure she's not chewing on things that aren't her toys and taking her outside for potty every few hours 🐾
