One.trick.pony. Digging deep into what I know I like and what works for me. I think my problem with working on this quilt for so long (and being stumped) was that I lost myself in the process. #sotdmakesquilts #runhardquilthard #liberatedquiltmaking

As part of my #tidyup (completed Nov 2014-July 2015) I adopted several professional and personal “uniforms” to make dressing and clothes selection easier. Some people may find my simplified wardrobe boring or even repetitive. Yes, I sometimes wear the same sweater, skirt, jeans, or blouse twice (or more) in a week or from week to week. I have better things to spend my energy on than worrying what people will think about me for doing this. The important thing is that we wear what makes us feel good and #sparkjoy either in the dressing, wearing, or ideally both. These new clothes from @llbean are duplicates of some favorite items in my closet that are showing wear. I know they will get a lot of use. Do you wear a uniform? #konmarimethod #konmari

New breakfast fav. Spinach, red bell pepper, cukes, avocado (although I don’t have it today), sweet potatoes, and @nomnompaleo kaluha pork. I heat the pork and sweet potatoes, sprinkle on a little rice vinegar and sesame oil and toss it all together and let it sit to wilt the spinach slightly. This would probably be good with either a fried or hard boiled egg but sometimes I get sick of eggs. #foodfreedom

I’ve disliked the barberry bushes along the front of our house since the day we moved in over 6 years ago. I worked with them over the years to transform an imposing hedge the previous owner had to more welcoming rounded bushes. But the red color has always blended in with the brick, the leaves dropped in winter, and the thorns poke me and make me mad every time I trim them. Over the last few weeks I’ve reworked the beds, dug out the barberry and the aggressive ground cover I planted (why?) and replaced it with #karlforrestergrass and some euonymus, as well as transplanted some iris and lavender to create a better balance. Here’s hoping it wasn’t too late in the season and it all comes back in the spring. Also three cheers for a landscape that #sparkjoy in terms of maintenance. The #konmari method isn’t just for inside your home. ✨🌱@mariekondo

13.5 min mile is the same distance as a 9.5 (or whatever faster, any faster😝) mile. And tonight I did 3.3. So, yeh. #sotdbalance #habitshift #sotdruns #runhardquilthard

Curious as to what would happen if I shut the TV off in the evenings and focused on other pursuits. #sotdbalance #sotdmakesquilts #OLWgetcurious #habitshift

Thought for the day: start where you're at. I'm thinking of becoming one of those people that always has a race on the horizon to motivate me to run consistently. Trying to get a head start on fall and winter and get my head in the game because when the seasons change all I want to do is stay home when it's dark and cold and sit by the fire. I set an intention this year to deal with the seasons changing (and darkness) better. Here goes. #aewellnesstribe #sotdbalance #sotdonelittleword #runhardquilthard #runchat
