Todays haul: West Indian lemongrass, romanesco, dinosaur kale, dill, ghost peppers, and green onions (not pictures). ๐Ÿฅ—
Made a batch of pickles with ginger, thai chiles, dill seeds, mustard seeds, togarashi, and apple cider vinegar. ๐Ÿฅ’#PickleRick
Keeping it simple and comfy tonight: chicken breast sauteed with squash, orange bell pepper, green onion, cilantro, pickled ginger, thai chiles, sriracha, sesame oil, and soy sauce on basmati rice and a pound of Nelson The Greeter from Port Brewing. ๐Ÿฑ๐Ÿบ
Getting started on dinner but first I need to get lubed up with some fresh tropical bitterness. This lives up to the hype and I definitely need to pick up more cans. ๐Ÿน

After working 8 days in a row itโ€™s time to blackout sensibly. ๐Ÿฅƒ
Todays experiment: octopus and shrimp nachos. So good. Octopus and shrimp sauteed with garlic, fresnos, green onions, white wine, and chicharrone seasoning on top of tortilla chips with smoked gouda and white cheddar. Topped with avocado, fried octopus, and Angelโ€™s salsa. Ruled. Made 3 batches of this. ๐ŸŒฎ
Getting in the Halloween spirit with something I call โ€œCthulhujuanaโ€. Wasabi sponge hollowed out and filled with ponzu aioli, fried octopus, radish, fried Fresnos, and smoked salmon roe, on black garlic snow. Looked cool and tasted awesome. Sweet smoke, spice, and just the right amount of richness. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ˜ˆ
Todays experiment: octopus crostini with burrata, olive salsa verde, micro basil, arugula, and Korean red pepper. I forgot how much of a flavor void burrata is, next time Iโ€™ll add more spice and citrus to balance out the richness. ๐Ÿ™
Crushed some beers for SNF. Alvarado St. is killing it. And that Strawberry Provence is pure eroticism. ๐Ÿป

Checking on my plants before work. Peppers are coming in decent, and some lemongrass is starting to sprout on the left. Stoked. ๐ŸŒถ
I heard bourbon relieves back pain so I decided to crack open this Weller Special Reserve finally. Rules. ๐Ÿฅƒ
Todays experiment: spicy citrus fried chicken tacos. I made the sauce with grapefruit juice, orange juice, orange zest, gochujang, Korean red pepper flakes, ginger, garlic, mirin, and love. Then sauteed fried chicken thighs in the sauce with green onions, more garlic, and peanuts. Then made lettuce tacos with papaya slaw and cilantro. Not bad. ๐Ÿฃ
Pregaming for work with a slice of Maple Pumpkin Struesel bread and Crime And Punishment. Bread rules, Dostoyevsky rules. ๐ŸŽƒ
