Hey fab friends! Long time, no talk! As many of you know, I started this account about six years ago when I was a child. Six years later, I am no longer a child [much to my dismay] and while I don't think running an account like this is juvenile, I do feel that it's something I've grown out of loving. I had the BEST time making edits and writing captions for this account, but I have much less of a desire to do those things now. I could just force myself to continue and satisfy those of you who I know would be sad if I stopped, but I really don't want to feel as though I'm faking it. I don't want to put on a show where I have it all together and I care so much, because neither are true. I would feel a lot worse continuing a ministry that I can't handle the way I'd want to than I would just discontinuing it. Trust me, guys, I'm sad about it too. I've thought on this for months and after feeling the way I have the past while not posting, I know it's the way I want to continue to feel. Living in the real world, making even more friends at university, being a happy person by not stressing over running an account is a good life for me so that's what I plan to do. Don't take this as I'm neglecting responsibilities or disobeying God [I've had stuff like that DM'd to me] because I don't need to run an Instagram account to be close to God or serve Him. I've been praying for years for Him to bring me out of the slump and hurtful feelings I've thought about myself and since getting off this account, I've felt so much weight lift off. Don't think that I don't care about you guys, because boy, do I ever. I love love love each of you. I still think about you all the time and will still think about you often. And you guys, you extra special ones, you guys that I've talked to for years and shared my life with, you guys who have shown me so much grace and love and encouragement, I will forever be in your debt.
I wouldn't be offended if you unfollowed [you know, help out your ratio] since 200+ already have...gosh, some people give up on you so quickly HAHA. I'll still post whenever I “feel it” and, of course, make polls on my story because they're freaking cool. ANYWAY, peace.

“We lift You high above all names. Your kingdom will forever reign. To You the glory and the power forevermore.”
First of all, big thanks goes out to SYD for introducing me to this song and blessing me with the undeniable beauty that my ears get to hear now. [go check her out and congratulate her on one year of @doodlingwithsyd while you're at it] Christian music has been one of the BIGGEST encouragements and supports to me in my walk with God ever since my friend introduced me to Jamie Grace, Britt Nicole, Hawk Nelson, Switchfoot, Newsboys, and all those oldies but goodies way back when I first tested the waters in this whole Christian thing. And maaaan, am I ever surprised and THANKFUL at how much music has evolved and changed me into who I am today and surely who I'm still to become. Beautifully crafted lyrics and intricately intertwined instrumentals and incredible working harmonies all flood my heart and mind and entire body with the amazing love of the Father and the tears that are coming to my eyes right now as I type and listen to worship music is further proof to me that godly music is life changing. When these things work together to lead me closer to Him, I can't help but love it more. When the music guides me into His presence and I feel Him so close to me, I can't help but love Him more. I can't thank my friend enough for making me open up my music tastes to this, because without that, I would not be in the place I am. And thanks be to Him who gives these artists the talent and heart for music that produces these feelings in me. Yes, to Him the glory and the power. Forevermore.
“To God be the glory forever and ever! Amen.” [Galatians 1:5] 🙌🏽

“You are the way, the truth and the life. We live by faith and not by sight for You. We're living all for You. One way, Jesus, You're the only one that I could live for.” 🌵
When @justlovinjesus asked me to collab with her on the topic of “God is truth,” the first thing that popped into my head was a grand ol’ camp song from way back when with the triple claps and ONE WAY/JESUS because how could it not? He is the way, the TRUTH, and the life and no one can come to the Father but through Him. In the world we live in today, so much is fake — the news, reality television, people's just name a few. There's one thing, though, that can be counted on to always ring true. One thing that can always be relied on to come through. One thing that is always one hundred percent real. One thing true — Him. God is the truth. If you can't trust anything else on this planet to be the real deal, turn to Him. People praise so many things in life, but fail to realize that the one most important and deserving thing to be praised in the midst of all the fake, untrue, deceiving lies of the world is Him. We place so much importance on the fake, we end up living our lives for the fake. Let's stop that. Let's rise up and bring glory to the truth. Let's live only for the One who IS truth. One way, Jesus, You're the only One that I could live for. 👏🏼

“I see You there hanging on a tree. You bled and then You died and then You rose again for me. Now You are sitting on Your heavenly throne. Soon we will be coming home. You're beautiful. [You're Beautiful — Phil Wickham] 💙
I miss my desire for Him. I wish I had that on fire feeling again. I desire so much to want Him more and take Him in more and do more for Him and show more of Him and give more to Him and be more like Him. I want Him to set a fire in me again and wake me up and push me out of this rut because I feel so stuck in this place of average effort and lukewarm Christianity. I want to be crazy about Him. I want to emit His love. I want to know Him better than I know my best friends. I want to be so bold that others know me as His follower. I want to live a life that brings Him glory and builds His Kingdom. I ask God everyday to help me live a life that does just that. Because I've been doing this and yet still find myself in this rut, I must have considered the idea that God doesn't answer prayers, but no. What this has caused me to realize is that He can't do everything for me. He can't make me be on fire for Him if I won't allow Him to, He can't just have me desire Him like no other if I won't let Him in, He can't force me to live my life to bring Him glory if I won't go along with it. That's on me. It's my job to desire, my job to want, my job to live according to His will and build His Kingdom. I am lazy. I am weak. I am stubborn. That's why I'm in this low place. But I still want Him. I still really, really, really want Him. Listening to worship music always gives me that spark and this song, my all time favourite worship song, reminds me that no matter how I feel, He is so worthy of my praise. He's done more for me than I'll ever deserve and for that I need to get that spark ignited into a blazing flame of love and desire for Him and His Word. The One sitting on that heavenly throne is the most beautiful part of my life and when I meet Him face to face, I want my fire to be the biggest, most raging, most beautiful flame it's ever been. 🔥

“Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.” [Ephesians 3:20] 💙
If you've seen Little People, Big World or you've made your way around Instagram, you probably know Audrey Roloff and if you know Audrey Roloff, you probably know about @shopalwaysmore. GUYS, do you see the sweetness of my ALWAYS MORE DAD HAT in this picture!? It's one of my FAVOURITE purchases EVER. Anyway, if you don't know Audrey or her shop, you may be wondering what “always more” means. In a section of Audrey's blog, she wrote, “When I run, these words remind me that I ALWAYS have MORE strength, power, and endurance in Christ (Isaiah 40:31). When I am tired or burnt out, these words remind me that I ALWAYS have MORE to draw from in Christ (Ephesians 3:20). When I get cut off on the road or treated rudely, these words remind me that there is ALWAYS MORE to someones’ story than what I know. When I am filled with joy, these words remind me that Christ will ALWAYS overfill me with MORE joy as I look to Him.” [go to Audrey's blog to check out more of her awesome work!!!] and I just LOVE LOVE LOVE that and think it explains Always More so simply and beautifully. Ephesians 3:20 is standing out a lot more to me now and I even picked it for my theme verse of summer 2017 for my #littlebibleplan devotion [check out @christiangirls] yesterday! I want to use this verse to remind me that there's always more I can learn about Him, always more I can uncover in His word, always more I can give to others, always more I can love about a person, always more I can take in, always more I can pour out, and always more I can strive to be. 🦋
If you want a SICK hat like this or want to see some of the other stylin’ things she's got, check out @shopalwaysmore or click the link in my bio! And if you want to read more of Audrey's work, check out @audreyroloff, @beating50, and her blogs! 😍

“So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.” [Galatians 6:10] ❤️
Since I know that in a few days my feed will be filled with American flags and July 4th posts, I thought I'd take my opportunity to shout out my FAVE country [Canada] and celebrate its 150th today. July 1st. That's Canada Day, Americans. So, as you all know, Canada is fricken nice and that's where this verse comes in. I LOVE the deserved stereotype that Canadians are overly kind and polite because, c'mon, how well can that fit into the Good Book!? But I also wanted to use this post to mention the controversy around Canada 150 and my internal struggle with trying to decide if I even wanted to celebrate this day. After having gone to university for 2 years in the college of Education, I've learned A LOT about the gross past of colonialism and its continuance into now. Colonialism 150 is a thing and I think that in the midst of today's celebrations, that should be addressed and at least acknowledged for a minute. Take in a new perspective and actually listen to someone else's opinion about today so that that “deserved” stereotype of Canadian kindness isn't diminished. With Nanaimo bars, chesterfields, Roots, Smarties [Americans, your “Smarties” are actually Rockets], toques, Coffee Crisp, loonies, poutine, blinds, ketchup chips, Tim Hortons, KD, Kinder Surprise [WITH TOYS INSIDE], Dunkaroos, toonies, plus the more well known things like “eh,” maple syrup, hockey, “sorry,” free healthcare, Ryan Gosling, and cold winters, Canada is THE BEST. No questions asked. And oh yeah, it's pop. 🇨🇦

“And all you who labor in vain, and to the broken and shamed, yeah. Love is here. Love is now. Love is pouring from His hands, from His brow. Love is near, it satisfies. Streams of mercy flowing from His side, yeah. And to the bruised and fallen, captives bound and brokenhearted, He is the Lord, He is the Lord, yeah. By His stripes He's paid our ransom, from His wounds we drink salvation. He is the Lord, He is the Lord.” [Love Is Here
— Tenth Avenue North] 🦊
I find this song so so so comforting. The truth that it shares so beautifully in times of unreal hurt and unbearable pain always strikes something in me. Despite every bad thing going on in your life and in this world, love is here and love is now because Jesus lives. He is here and now, present in our troubles, guiding us in our trials, comforting us in our heartbreak. And this is all because of His [beyond—words] sacrifice. Because His hands were nailed to the cross, because He bled, because He died, He is here, now, and near, overflowing with love for our broken and fallen selves. Our scars are healed by His and by His stripes we are saved. From His wounds we drink salvation. He is the Lord. 🙌🏽

“If you want to be holy, be kind.” —Frederick Buechner 🐶
I think one of the most attractive things about Christianity is the kindness it encompasses [or should!] Some of my friends have done this on their accounts and I always find it so fun and encouraging SO, if you're tagged and given a kind message, go ahead and pass on the warm fuzzies and smiles to someone else by doing the same...or else. 😏

“But that isn’t what you learned about Christ. Since you have heard about Jesus and have learned the truth that comes from him, throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God — truly righteous and holy. So stop telling lies. Let us tell our neighbors the truth, for we are all parts of the same body.” [Ephesians 4:20-25] 🍩
Honesty — the quality of being free of deceit and untruthfulness; sincere. Have you heard anything about honesty lately? I know I haven't. I feel like it's something you learn about when you're a child, like don't lie, tell the truth, the truth will set you free, all that. Honesty seems so mundane and everyday to me just because it was something that was drilled into my head as a child, which isn't a bad thing. Honesty is obviously important. Lying can get you into sticky situations, the truth is something that should [almost] always be told, and God tells us not to be deceitful, but have we ever thought about some of the whys? Reading this passage in Ephesians brought me up to speed on one reason why I should aim to honest and that is because we are all part of the same body. We're all a team here. We're all His children. We shouldn't let our old sinful nature full of deception corrupt our relationships with the church. Why would we ever want to hurt the ties we have with other believers and also unbelievers? Why would we desire to undo the connections we have that are so important for building His Kingdom? Why would we want to hurt ourselves by losing the relationships we have with others in God's creation? We are all parts of the same body, why not take care of it? 🌸
This was a collab with @makechristknown so go check out her thoughts on honesty! #christiandictionary ✌🏽

“The loveliest materpiece of the heart of God is the love of a mother.” ❤️
Yesterday morning, my fam skipped our trip to the city to stay home and watch our rented movie [yes, my town still has a movie rental store] before it needed to go back. That movie was Lion. And man oh man am I ever glad we did. It's definitely one of my new faves! The story was beyond amazing, the acting was stellar, the kids were adorable, the settings [India & Australia] were two of my favourites, the cinematography was unreal, the music was gripping, and, not to mention, Dev Patel was great on the eyes. ALSO, this quote by him about the movie: “Lion reaffirms the message that love is not dictated by the colour of your skin, not by race, gender, sexuality, social status or origin. It is a message I am proud to be spreading during these uncertain times." I MEAN, a million heart eyes. But, the thing that made me post today was what Lion said about mothering. Ugh, it's making me tear up thinking about it. Whether you have a biological mom, a mom who didn't give birth to you, but raised you, a mom who you don't live with, multiple moms, a grandma who's like a mom, or any other woman figure who, to you, is MOM, that is so beautiful and you should be so appreciative of her. To begin to even think of the words to describe a mother is tough. My mind goes in a million different directions to still only a fraction of the many many many things that mothers are. Make sure to let your mumsie know how much love you have for her today! 🌞
Happy Mother's Day to all the amazing moms out there! I am so appreciative of my own mother and all the women who counsel and encourage me on the daily. To all my mom followers, today's for you! Hope the kiddos did something FAB. 🤗

“You wrote Your name upon my heart. You knew me long before my life began. You still have a plan. And when I'm starting to forget, Jesus, You tell me who I am, who I am. You tell me I am loved, tell me I am known and that You died for me, I am not alone. You tell me I'm Your child, the one Your heart beats for. I will find my strength knowing I am Yours. You've always known what my heart needs and You tell me. Your voice has the power to heal the hurt inside. Your voice speaks the truth, brings my heart back to life.” [Tell Me — Carrollton] 💕
Are you ever just completely negative? Are there times that you believe you're just absolutely worthless? Do you ever just see every small thing that's “wrong” with the way you are? Me too. The thing is, believing lies isn't the very best way to live your life, now is it? When you forget how abundantly loved, especially important, and intricately beautiful you are, let Him tell you. When you feel low, let Him tell you that He's in you, let Him tell you that He had your life completely planned out for your good before you were even born, let Him tell you that His plan for you is still in motion and that good things are coming. Jesus Christ, the King, tells you that you are needed and wanted and full of worth. The Lord of all creation calls you His child. The God who created the heavens and the earth has the power to heal the hurt inside you so lean on His strength and might. You are loved. You are known. You are not alone. You are His. And I'm not the only one telling you. He tells you these things. Who better to believe? Listen to His voice and know He only speaks truth. Let your heart beat for the One who can bring your heart back to life. 🌊
“Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? And not one of them is forgotten before God. Why, even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows.” [Luke 12:6-7] 🕊

“Repulsed by her haggard appearance, the prince sneered at the gift and turned the old woman away. But she warned him not to be deceived by appearances, for beauty is found within.” [Beauty & the Beast] 🥀
In the attempts to satisfy my desire to see Beauty and the Beast [and also use up my Cineplex gift cards before I move home — I also saw Gifted and The Zookeeper's Wife all within the span of 5 days] I treated myself to a study break and helped break in some new recliner seats at a Cineplex while blessing my eyes with the greatness of the movie and my ears with the incredible music. So, I thought I'd jump on the already passed bandwagon and come out with a super original Beauty and the Beast post. As cliche and commonsensical as this sounds, really consciously aim to remember that outward appearances have no comparison to the beauty of our inner selves. 🐻
“Do not let your adorning be external — the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear — but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's sight is very precious.” [1 Peter 3:3-4] 🌹

Happy Easter, everyone! This day always just brings me so much joy [even today when I have to drive 3 hours back to university for a final tomorrow] and happiness! Lots because I love the chocolate and the cuteness of Easter, but mostly because this is the day Jesus defeated the grave. The day our King rendered death defeated. The day death died. “Come close, listen to the story about a love more faithful than the morning. The Father gave His only Son just to save us. The earth was shaking in the dark. All creation felt the Father's broken heart. Tears were filling heaven's eyes the day that true love died, the day that true love died. When blood and water hit the ground, walls we couldn't move came crashing down. We were free and made alive the day that true love died, the day that true love died. Search your hearts, you know you can't deny it. Lose your life just so you can find it. The Father gave His only Son just to save us. Jesus is alive. He rose again.” [True Love — Phil Wickham] 💎
I woke up with this song stuck in my head and if you've never heard it, I'd really recommend taking a listen of it. Make sure you take at least a portion of this day thinking about the ultimate sacrifice that was made for you and for me and for everyone. Imagine the pain and imagine the hurt, but know that it was for you. Know that your life and His glory would be diminished without the pain of this day. Praise Him. “No pain, no palm; no thorns, no throne; no gall, no glory; no cross, no crown.” —William Penn ✝️

“If I should speak then let it be of the grace that is greater than all my sin, of when justice was served and where mercy wins, of the kindness of Jesus that draws me in. Oh, to tell you my story is to tell of Him.” [My Story — Big Daddy Weave] 🌿
Hearing my awesome worship pastor sing this song at church really opened my eyes to how our testimonies can tell of Him. How our stories can ring of His glory is astounding so I thought I'd share a little of my story today so as to help build His Kingdom. I grew up in a non-Christian household and so didn't go to church or youth or even hear anything about Jesus at all besides the mundane things. In grade 3, my class went on a field trip to a bible camp and that is honestly what changed my life because I went back to that camp that summer and then every summer following until I graduated high school. That bible camp taught me who Jesus is and what He's done for me and all people. I accepted Him into my heart way back at my second time at camp and learned more and more each summer with my week at bible camp. The sucky thing was, I still didn't go to church and only convinced my mom to let me go to youth group a handful of times. Camp was basically my only Jesus source for a few years until I realized how much I could learn through listening to Christian music and reading my bible daily [I've read that thing every day since I was in grade 8 — that's 7 years now!] which have both been lifesavers to me. Despite all this and creating this account and the big steps forward, I still felt unworthy of Him and at camp in 2012 I broke down. I never show my emotions or let people know how I really feel, but God put it on my heart to let it out and at that worship night at camp with my counsellor and a few girls in my cabin, my life flipped around and I felt God the most I've ever felt Him. Even though I still feel random pings of not being good enough, I know that He has called me and I am His. 🤗
Share your story below or DM me with it or share it somehow because your story can build His Kingdom & bring Him glory! 🙌🏽

I saw Before I Fall last night and freaking fell in love. It hit so many things that I've thought a lot about before like how things are connected and how much small things can mean to people who are hurting and how our lives have big purpose. One of my most favourite things is that we can show God through what we do and how we act [hence my bio & fave bible verse] because we do things and act ways daily, which means we can shine His light everyday! Small things that may be seemingly meaningless or trivial might actually be monumental to someone else. That smile you flashed or that door you held open or that simple look in the eyes you gave may have meant life to someone. I know that for me, small things like that make a huge difference. A single grin from one of my Special Olympics athletes on Saturday bowling affects me long term, a hello from a man who introduced himself to me at church last year has me feeling joyful for the next few hours, and a helping hand from a classmate to pick up a paper I dropped makes me flutter with happiness for the rest of the day. We don't always know each other's stories and we don't always understand what a small kind word or loving action can mean, so why not always be kind and always let our hearts pour out love? How easy it can be to share His goodness by consciously doing the small things we often pass up or just take for granted. Like Sam says in the movie, if she were going to keep living the same day over and over, it should be a day that makes a difference, and not just for her. We are given the chance daily to affect others by our words and actions so let's do that before those opportunities fade away. You never know when your days will be up so make that change today, smile today, wave today, stand up today, love today. 🤗
“Maybe you can afford to wait. Maybe for you there's a tomorrow. Maybe for you there's one thousand tomorrows, or three thousand, or ten, so much time you can bathe in it, roll around it, let it slide like coins through you fingers. So much time you can waste it. But for some of us there's only today. And the truth is, you never really know.” [Lauren Oliver — Before I Fall] 💙
