On February 2010 I was working again as a communications adviser for PyeongChang's bid for the Winter Olympics. Our team was in Vancouver for the Winter Olympics. One of the challenges was Korea's image in the world, as society limited by tradition, no fun, too "serious", etc. Such an image was unjustified, particularly because of the success of K-pop, the Korean youth boys and girls music bands in Asia. But people in the "West" knew very little about it (which, in retrospect, was unjustified). In order to confront this matter, a modern dance Korean youth group was brought in Vancouver and performed every night in the "Korea House." I ended up being there almost every night, finding their performances mesmerizing. I shot plenty of photos. This one, backstage, I asked the three lead dancers to pose for me. They happily obliged, got up, and stood in front of me, doing their thing, without any instructions from me. #PyeongChang2018 #Olympics #OlympicBids #Winter #dance #performance #kpop #beautiful #Korea

The view from Ano Trikala, Peloponissos, over the Gulf of Corinth, towards probably Parnassos mountain. I shot this photo last week, on a day when snow and rain stopped, and the visibility was great. #view #visibility #Trikala #Corinth #Greece #winter #mountains #sea #snow #newyear #roadtrip

The city of Delphi perched on the mountainside of Parnassos. I shot this photo on my way up from the city of Galaxidi. I wish I had time to find out if the oracle had any answers for me. #Delphi #mountains #snow #winter #greece #parnassos #roadtrip

Yesterday was the last day of the holiday season. Today, Monday, first day of work, I am fine with it. Because lately I had an epiphany: to hate Mondays and “hope” to pass quickly is like hoping for 1/7 of my life to pass quickly. So, no, I love Mondays and you should to. So allow me to write this: especially if you are healthy and doing OK, don’t hate this Monday. Celebrate this Monday, because when this Monday ends, it will never come back again! #thoughts #resolutions #newyear #sunset #dusk #endofholidays #sea #blue #water #clouds #greece

Passing under The Rio–Antirrio Bridge (Greek: Γέφυρα Ρίου-Αντιρρίου), officially called "the Charilaos Trikoupis Bridge". This is one of the world's longest multi-span cable-stayed bridges and longest of the fully suspended type. It crosses the Gulf of #Corinth near Patras, linking the town of Rio on the #Peloponnese peninsula to Antirrio on mainland Greece by road. It opened in August 2004 just before the Athens2004 #Olympics. This was one of the major infrastructure projects complete prior to the Games. #bridge #star #cable #blue #suspended #roadtrip #greece #driving #newyear

Paul Gauguin: “Flowers and cats”, 1898, oil on canvas. At the phenomenal @glyptoteket museum at Copenhagen. I got to spent one hour only, at the French painters section, enough to make me think that the museum is one more reason to visit for one more time the beautiful city of Copenhagen. #denmark #art #painting #thegreatmasters #frenchpainting #artlivesforever #museum #work #travel #lucky

At the North Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, is the city of Firozabad. Every day millions of glass pieces are manufactured by the city residents to be sold in India or around the world. At the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Lausanne, there is an exhibition about the glass artifacts of Firozabad. I walked into a small room where a documentary, where the images and the sound were doing all the story-telling. I ended up watching it all. This brilliant video by Francois Daireaux shows the brilliant craftsmanship and skill of the Indian workers, as they go about their work in an environment of unimaginable hardship for us in Europe and the USA. The colors, the sounds, and then the people themselves, the way they proceed seemingly without complaint, with an unforgettable stare in their eyes. It really makes you re-evaluate the concept of economic crisis, and it reminds to a lot of us that we move forward with our lives, even with the best intentions, and yet oblivious to what truly is going on around the world.

If you are in Lausanne, visit MUDAC, see the exhibit and make sure to watch the film.

PS. I stole two minutes to give you a sense of it. I don’t own the rights of course and I hope to be forgiven for doing so. #firozabad #india #glass #color #sound #film #documentary #exhibition #museum #lausanne #work #travel

At the top floor of the @mudaclausanne museum in Lausanne, extraordinary art exhibits with glass plates. The light goes through them creating a bright contrast to the wooden roof. #glass #art #museum #design #light #bright #elegant #Lausanne #work #travel
