Literally just a small fraction of the Jedi mind tricks I was performing on myself during the entire booty workout. I can do cardio and jumps like Shaun T with no problem. I can lift weights and do pushups like Sagi - Beast mode. Now put a little resistance loop around my thighs and asked me to do leg lifts, and I become the biggest wuss. Hey it's not my strong suit but I'm not giving up. I went for it today with the black band and continued to make progress!

You don't have to like every workout but you do have to show up with intention! THIS IS 42!

Thank you @monicalopez_fit for pointing out to me that Jack Will from the movie Wonder has a striking resemblance to my Jake Ryan. There is a strong physical resemblance but it certainly doesn't stop there. The character Jack Will is caring, fun-loving and a sweet boy. His impulsiveness and kind hearted spirit reminds me so much of Jake too. He is the only kid who did the kind thing and gave Auggie a chance when school started. Something I know Jake would do because he has a huge heart, cares about people's feelings and knows the difference between right and wrong. We have always pressed upon our kids to embrace everyone. Bullying will never be tolerated.

If you and your family haven't seen Wonder yet, I highly recommend it. The message of kindness needs to be received by everyone!

Field trip day! From being told in 2011 that I couldn't take any more time off from work to attend school events to total freedom of time. These are the moments I will treasure forever. My baby isn't a baby anymore.

🌟MOVE OF THE DAY!🌟
R2D8 80DO Total Body Core! V-ups with a leg raise. I love this move with every muscle in my core! I have always loved it and with the addition of the resistance Loop and the leg raise it just takes it to another level. Today I have featured the advanced move first. The modification is simply a leg raise with a crunch. The third way of doing it is to remove the resistance Loop all together. You can actually do the leg raise with the crunch without the loop as well.

You can call me the Slow Cooker Queen! Ha! Pollo a la Criolla aka Cuban Criolle Chicken for dinner tonight and it was fabulous! 🇨🇺

Recipe from Skinnytaste.com. Such a great resource for clean recipes!

Ingredients:
4 skinless chicken breasts with bone
1 small onion, diced
1 garlic clove, crushed
1 bell pepper, chopped or sliced
4 plum tomatoes
2 tbsp pitted spanish olives
8 oz can tomato sauce
1/4 tsp oregano
1/4 tsp cumin
Salt to taste
1-2 bay leaf
1/4 cup chopped cilantro
Optional: Baby Yukon potatoes cut in half
.
Directions:
*We brown the seasoned chicken first in the Ninja slow cooker.
*Place onion, garlic, pepper, potatoes and tomatoes in the crock pot. Season with salt, cumin and oregano. Mix well so everything is seasoned.
*Add tomato sauce, olives along with 1 tbsp of the brine, 1/2 cup water, 2 bay leavea and cilantro.
*Mix well and set crock pot to HIGH 4 hours or LOW for 6 hours. When done, taste for salt and seasoning and adjust spices as needed.
*Serve over brown rice.

Endurance...the word of the day! All winners possess the power of endurance. The mental and physical stamina to push oneself through pain and discomfort.

I started my workout today with this word in mind. Then in the last 15 minutes of my R2D8 - 80 Day Obsession - Total Body Core workout, it popped up again. This time Autumn was talking about endurance and resisting the urge to throw in the towel at the very end of your workout.

ENDURANCE keeps you in the game! ENDURANCE is mental toughness! ENDURANCE is the desire to win no matter what!
ENDURANCE is a passion for progress!

Step Throughs from 80 Day Obsession - Cardio Flow done! I love taking this work out outside and connecting with nature. With all the beauty around me, of course crushing my workout is a no-brainer.

Crazy to think that 2018 is just a few weeks away!  Wasn't Christmas like the other day? LOL!

You might even be thinking WHY would I want to get involved with a weight loss support group NOW? Did you know that on average people gain between 10 and 15 lb during the holiday season? In my opinion, just because you didn't meet your goals for 2017 OR lost your way recently, doesn't mean you throw in the towel now. There is still time to make lifestyle changes that will help you drop some weight or even maintain and get you ready for 2018!

Here is my deconstructed bacon burger! Yes I threw 1 slice of bacon on that b*tch. Uncured, all natural bacon to clarify.🥓

Sweet potato "toast" topped with spinach, onions, tomato🍅, bacon 🥓and a lean ground beef burger! 🍔Oh back yeah! That was delish. For dessert, a small banana 🍌with 1 tsp peanut butter.
.
To clarify the sweet potato toast is not actually toast. I took a medium sized sweet potato and softened it in the microwave for about 2 minutes. Then I sliced it in approx 2" slices. I then put it in the toaster oven and baked it for about 10 minutes. Voila sweet potato toast!
.
In case you're wondering, it's all within my nutritional guidelines. No dieting here. I eat to feed and fuel my body...not to punish it!🙌👏

This being my first Christmas season at Potential Church, I didn't want to miss the kickoff today. I feel so blessed to have experienced an amazing service with my sons, bff and niece. The message was loud and clear once again. I have been receiving this same message a lot lately. Appreciate the past but let it go, be present and look to the future with hope!

MY FUTURE DIDN'T END IN THE PAST. Let that soak in. So I had never really heard Christmas being explained the way that Pastor Troy broke it down today. Christmas is about the future. About having HOPE for the future. Not about beating yourself up about everything that has gone wrong in your life. Let's face it we have all made mistakes in the past or have had people hurt us or even events happen which have shaken us to the core and dimmed our light. It's time for us to leave the past where it belongs, behind us. We cannot change that "event" but we can decide to live our purpose and destiny. Jesus was born to rescue us from our past and bring hope for a brighter future. Amen! "God did not send his Son into the world to judge and condemn the world, but to be its Savior and rescue it!" Amen!
.
At the end of service, Pastor Troy asked all individuals ready to step into their future to come forward. I felt compelled to do so and I did! The tug in my heart was too strong to be denied. With courage and faith, I prayed for courage and surrendered. I will live my purpose. I will lead and serve from my heart. I have been called and I am ready! 🙏🎄🎇💕🙌📿
