Flipping through @trainforher and saw this @bodybuildingcom #FinishSomething ad 💪🏼 It's easy to say you're going to do something...and it's just as easy to give up. But actually starting and finishing through with your goal is something to be proud of! What's something you've finished and crossed off the list recently? Share in the comments below...I will too! #bestself #athleete
In case ya need some Monday motivation to get your week started...Chet push-ups! #hecandomorethanme #4monthsold #athleete @kct__

8 months pregnant ➡️ 4 months postpartum

This has been such a crazy amazing journey and I'm doing my best to love every stage of it for what it is! I've been so anxious since giving birth to get "cleared" for regular exercise. Going into my pregnancy I thought this happens for most women around week 6. This last week I've decided I need to change my perspective and expectations. I gave birth by #cesarean and have severe #diastasisrecti and have decided I'll just focus on making progress with what I can do week by week instead of hoping to get "cleared" each week I go to the PT. I want to make sure I heal correctly! --
As for my weight gain, I've had a few ladies asking how much I gained and where I'm at now. First I want to say everyone is so different and every pregnancy is different so don't measure yourself against me and my numbers! I gained a total of 35 lbs while pregnant... Lots of it at the beginning and then it slowed down toward the end which is less common - lots of women don't gain very much if any in the first trimester. I came home from the hospital expecting to have lost a good amount based of what I read since giving birth to baby, placenta, loosing fluid ect. But I actually came home weighing 2 lbs more than when I went in. I was pretty bummed about that considering my baby weighed over 7 lbs alone lol...but now I realize my body just didn't react well to the surgery. Now, 4 months pp I still have between 5-10 lbs to loose to be back to my pre-pregnancy weight, depending on the day. That being said, I really have more fat because my body composition is a lot different. I've lost a lot of muscle! I love food and don't like following a super strict diet. I probably could be down more weight if I cut out the brownies but I'm okay with where I'm at! And being a mom... I NEED and deserve the brownies ya feel me!? I'm comfortable with where I'm at right now and I know that as I'm able to introduce more activity into my routine I can kick my butt back into shape (literally - the bum is a hot mess right now 😂). #mombod 🙌🏼 --

First lake trip with Chet in the books! ✔️ Contrary to the look on his face here, he loved it! 😒😂
I love pool days with my little fishy! 🐠 (haven't quite mastered the whole taking a photo where we both don't have a weird look on our face 😒😂) Still just trying to get out and moving the best I can! I have another PT appointment this week and hoping I get good news. 🙏🏼🙏🏼 Is there anyone interested in what I've been doing to heal my #diastasisrecti? Comment and let me know if you'd like a vid! #athleete #fitmom
Today has been such a special day -- we got to celebrate Kasey's first Father's Day and bless our sweet little boy. 💙💙 I can't image life without these two handsome guys and am so thankful for all of our love and laughs with family and friends. Kasey has such a kind, giving, gentle heart and I couldn't ask for a better example of a man for our little Chet. So happy to have you as my hubby and baby daddy @kct__ Happy Father's Day!! 💋
Sunday shenanigans with this cutie! 👻: SamanthaLeete
Finishing up Chet's birth announcements and blessing invites today with @honeyb_studio (so excited!) and I couldn't help but think of all the amazing projects she's created for us including this sweet note @kct__ gave me as a push gift when Chet was born. 💚 It's so beautiful and I'll be able to keep it forever. Kasey is so thoughtful and the sweetest...So lucky to have him as my hubby and Chet's papa.
P.S. The back of this note is so gorgeous...check out my snapchat so you can see 😍
Left the house to get a doughnut for #nationaldoughnutday...came home with a cactus instead. 🌵
#3monthspostpartum and still not cleared for regular exercise 😞 but I'm starting to see some little abs pokin through 🙌🏼 honestly I had no idea how rough this c-section recovery would be. My movement has gotten tons better though! I've been going on family walks and hikes enjoying the warm weather, doing small movements trying to heal my diastasis recti, and massaging my scar hoping to get the scar tissue to lay correctly. Just started working with a physical therapist and hoping it will help speed up my recovery so I can get back to it! The upside to all this... We are LOVING our little squishy man and so happy and blessed he's a healthy happy baby! ❤️ #athleete #bestself
#MomCrushMonday @cassie1162 ❤️ Love her new article on @bodybuildingcom... Tag a fit mommy to read! "The line "if it's important, do it every day" definitely applies to fitness. But I bet whoever said that wasn't caring for a freaking baby at the time. Because the truth is that caring for that baby is the most important thing you do, and you'd better believe you're going to do it every day.

You know what else is important? Making sure my baby has plenty to eat. So I eat a lot. It's also important that she's happy. So I hold her a lot. It's also important that my husband and I get to spend time together. Sometimes, the best we can do is go for a walk. And when I go back to work full-time, there will be fewer hours in each day to make sure all of these important things get done.

But they will, somehow. And I see now that it won't be by accident. On some level, that's kind of terrifying, but on another, it's inspiring. I see how I need to take ownership of what's important in my life and make it happen. Welcome to motherhood.

To all those moms out there who are struggling to "get their body back," I get it now. And I'm not sure what I would have said a year ago, but now I say do what you can when you can. And if you never fit back into those old size-whatever pants...go buy some new pants." Read the entire article 👉🏼 athlete.co/4momthings
