Lucy and the ducks were playing king-of-the-hill after I mucked out their barn. You'd think it was Christmas with how excited they were over that pile. #charlotteandtheducklings #lucyandherducklings

Brice and I were camping for the last few days, and I kid you not, this all it did yesterday and most of the day before. Today it was a little sunny with no rain, just in time to pack up and head home. If we waited for it not to rain in Portland than we'd never do anything. So camping in the rain it is. It was Brice's first time camping, and we were with other homeschoolers, so it's safe to say he had a blast. I was worried the rain would have him hating it and never wanting to go again, so I'm glad it didn't phase him. I missed being outdoors and can't wait to take him camping again. #camping #homeschool #oxbowregionalpark

Tis the season! Every autumn I pull this out and work on it until Halloween. Maybe one of these years I'll finish it. #halloweenquiltsampler #karenkluba #crossstitch

We're home again but Jojo is ready to go again. She's been in her travel kennel all day waiting for us to zip her up and head out on the next adventure. #kittygeorgette
Brice says to me, with a cheeky smile in his voice and a big grin on his face: Mom, I have just one question...what are those three things? Ha! That's my kid with my misplaced humor. 11,000 years ago and man was still all about the inappropriate doodle on rocks. We went to Dinosaur National Monument a few days ago. I hadn't been in about 30 years. It hasn't changed much, which is kind of sad. It has the potential to be an amazing park and instead it feels like it's dying. It's a little out of the way, but worth the visit. It needs funds and a revival so it doesn't fade away for future generations. The geology is amazing and the scenery gorgeous, not to mention the awesome fossil wall to gaze at and touch. Touching a 1.2 million year old dinosaur bone is a great way to ground yourself and remember your humanity. We're such a small speck in the whole scheme of things. I'm so glad I got to share it with my little man.
When your a playful forever-kitten and bored in the car you find your own entertainment. #kittygeorgette
His little foot shuffle at the end of the video kills me! He's such a funny kid. We spent the day on Antelope Island in the Great Salt Lake. I haven't been for about 15 years and really wanted to show Brice Oolitic sand. Of course once he found out what's at its nucleus he could stop calling it poop sand. We walked the beach, got a little wet in the lake, hiked a bit and visited the historic ranch. It's a great place to spend the day. Bonus: It didn't smell going across the causeway today!
Of all the pictures from today I choose to share burrows. Because darn, they're cute! Hurry, go see my story before 24 hours pass!! They just could not get enough of rubbing on my side mirrors.

A gorgeous exit from Yellowstone's east entrance today. From Fishing Bridge we traveled through snowy passes with blazing sun towards Cody, Wyoming. After Cody we took a scenic drive toward Buffalo, where we encountered falling snow that was near whiteout conditions over a 9,500' pass on Hwy 16. After that it was smooth sailing. It's been about 10 years since I've traveled east of the park, I'd forgotten how beautiful it is. I'm so looking forward to being in the Black Hills again. I'm always sad to leave Yellowstone, but western South Dakota makes up for it.
She spotted the bison and was focused like you wouldn't believe. She just couldn't figure it out. Best moment of the trip by far. #kittygeorgette
Seeing tons of wildlife today. Thought we spotted a wolf, but ended up being a coyote. Saw some Trumpeter Swans, bison and elk. It's so beautiful out today, but also very cold. The car was iced over this morning and I was glad for layers.
An absolutly picture perfect day in Yellowstone. It's so quiet this year compared to the last several years, I'm not sure why that is, but I'm so glad for it. We've seen more wildlife this year than the last handful of years combined.

Road trip buddies. Little Jojo tears the house apart when we're gone, so she's a road trip cat now. She's wearing her compression jacket to calm her down. Usually after the first day she doesn't need it. She walks like a drunken sailor in it, it's hard not to laugh. #kittygeorgette

A little smoky, but still beautiful. Drove down the Washington side of the gorge this morning and I didn't spot any fire damage from the Eagle Creek fire. It's there somewhere, but it's just as beautiful as ever. #pacificnorthwest #columbiarivergorge

Ali @asquaredw stopped by the house for a quick visit on her way into Portland today. She was definitely in the Pacific Northwest spirit with her plaid shirt! Its been a few years...I wish we had more time to visit!!

I can't remember what @peppiflo calls this quilt, but I call it the Ocean Quilt. Probably my favorite quilt I've quilted for her yet. Seafoam was the perfect quilting pattern for it, don't you agree?! #sometimescrafterlongarmquilting #sometimescrafterquilting #longarmquilting
