The Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius (Russian: Тро́ице-Се́ргиева Ла́вра) is the most important Russian monastery and the spiritual centre of the Russian Orthodox Church. The monastery was founded in 1337 by one of the most venerated Russian saints, Sergius of Radonezh, who built a wooden church in honour of the Holy Trinity on Makovets Hill.
In 1993, the Trinity Lavra was inscribed on the UN World Heritage List. - Wikipedia #monastery #church #кагор #русский #russia #motherrussia #sergiyevposad #itisnotmoscow

Tolerance means to endure, to remain the same, to not get upset and lose your composure, to not be thrown into disorder, in a turmoil. It shows how it works. Before I came here, many people told me about how extreme this country (it is true about the weather), how intolerance and communist they are, but it shows in opposite way #kazan #tatarstan #kazangorod #казань #татарстан #russia #русский #cold #crazyautumn #autumfeelslikewinter #nowonder #itisrussia #motherrussia

Another catch for today with another achievement for walking 13.4 km. It is not best, but at least it is not dark enough. This building is the Cathedral of Christ the Savior (Храм Христа Спасителя) and was destroyed in 1931 on the order of Joseph Stalin. The demolition was supposed to make way for a colossal Palace of the Soviets to house the country's legislature, the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. Construction started in 1937 but was halted in 1941 when Nazi Germany invaded the Soviet Union during World War II, but under Nikita Khrushchev, it was transformed into the world's largest open air swimming pool, named Moskva Pool. Interesting building to be skipped! And now yes, it stands again! It was rebuilt again on the site during 1995–2000 with the same design before demolition! #moscow #москва #russia #русский #buildings #architecture #riverbank #dawn #capture #church

Saint Basil's Cathedral (Собор Василия Блаженного) at night.
It was built from 1555–61 on orders from Ivan the Terrible and commemorates the capture of Kazan and Astrakhan. #redsquare #Краснаяплощадь #moscow #москва #русский #russia #nightout #landmark

Kip bana Josipa Jelačića, a centrum in Zagreb, named after ban Josip Jelačić. The official name is Trg bana Jelačića. The square is colloquially called Jelačić plac and the most common meeting place for people in Zagreb. You can find many shops around the square, including Dolac Market, a farmer market that sells anything u need! And I think Zagreb is one of safest places in Europe. The people also is one of the warmest and kindest hearted people in the continent #zagreb #Croatia #eurotrip2017 #euroeidtrip #citycenter #cityicon #statue #centrum

Many resources said Croatia is one of Europe’s sunniest spots, but it was rainy there! But do you know that Croatia is also rich with Intangible culture and holds ten of UNESCO's World's intangible culture masterpieces, surpassing all countries in Europe except Spain which possesses an equal number of the listed items? And the country also contributed to global culture! It is the necktie, derived from the cravat originally worn by the 17th-century Croatian mercenaries in France. Wow! Fascinating! #Croatia #zagreb #alley #euroeidtrip #eurotrip2017 #driveaway #hrvatska🇭🇷

I always wonder about this city after the breakup of Yugoslavia in the early 1990s, because it has a very unique name that contains so many consonants, which is hard to pronounce (but, I know on how to pronounce it now). In my opinion, even though it's small, but very dynamic. During antiquity, a Roman city called Emona stood in the area. Ljubljana itself was first mentioned in the first half of the 12th century. It was under Habsburg rule from the Middle Ages until the dissolution of the Austro-Hungarian Empire in 1918. The curving Ljubljanica River, lined in outdoor cafes, divides the city's old town from its commercial hub. #Ljubljana #slovenia #euroeidtrip #eurotrip2017 #slovenija🇸🇮

Church of Assumption of Mary (Cerkev Marijinega vnebovzetja), a pilgrimage church that was built in Bled Island (Blejski otok) in the 17th century. According to a legend which stayed with the people, the temple of the ancient Slavic goddess Živa, once stood in the place of the present Baroque church. The temple disappeared during battles between the followers of the pagan religion and Christians, who destroyed the altar and built a church. #slovenija🇸🇮 #bled #driveaway #eurotrip2017 #euroeidtrip #slovenia
