Two weeks and two days old | Trying to soak up every single moment with this guy. He has gained 375g (13oz) in a week and is currently* waking once a night for a huge feed. We make a good team buddy 💙 *Waiting for a growth spurt and/or the newborn sleepiness to wear off 🤣

Nine days post partum and my rehab has started. I had a physio assess me while I was in hospital and I plan on seeing my regular physiotherapist in a couple of weeks. Even though I had a very straight forward vaginal delivery, my body has experienced significant trauma so I'm starting small to rebuild strength, coordination and functionality through my core and pelvic floor.
I have about a 1-2cm separation through my abdominal muscles so all I am focusing on is diaphragmatic breathing while doing a small pelvic floor contraction.
There's nothing more I want to do than swing a kettlebell and smash out some heavy squats but right now I know that my body needs calm, gentle and deliberate movements to set a strong foundation for recovery.

I absolutely love this.
@brianna.battles nailed it.
Right now my focus is to sleep, eat, move (safely) and breathe.
The perfect post partum recipe for optimum mental and physical health ❤️

These past two weeks have been filled with nothing but gratitude. Last week I lost a friend to Cystic Fibrosis. She was 30 years old. I was overwhelmed with sadness and heartbreak but I could feel Bec reminding me to put a massive smile on my face, be grateful for this life and just breathe. So I did just that. I'm 39 weeks pregnant today and I am so insanely excited to meet this little love of ours. Ready when you are babe ❤️ #39weekspregnant

And just like that, Millie brings me back down to Earth. She just asked to feel the baby kick and I managed to capture her reaction. #😭 #bigsister

I've been struggling the last couple of days. I really, really, REALLY miss my strong, functional, agile body. I miss doing push-ups, heavy squats, box jumps and everything in between. I miss getting out of bed without pain. I miss feeling energized. I know pregnancy is seriously incredible and my body is doing exactly what it needs to do, but far out these last couple of weeks are HARD. Anyways. I'll quit whinging now and focus on some positive, grateful thoughts while I continue growing this little babe ❤️ 18 days until my due date! #preggomonster

ONE MONTH | Until my due date! I am in crazy nesting mode.... pest controller has been, carpets are being steamed cleaned next week, hospital bags are almost packed and all the baby washing is done, folded and put away 👌🏼 Physio appointment this Friday to have a pelvic floor health/diastasis rectis check and I also get to see my doctor on a weekly basis until delivery! Training wise, I haven't been doing a whole lot - nerve pain has been making me feel super uncomfortable so I have been focusing on low impact exercises such a glute activation, piston breathing and practicing correct posture/alignment. The count down is ON! #babywatch #pelvicfloorhealth #almost #36weekspregnant #nesting

Seriously the most beautiful planner I have laid my eyes on. Thank you JAL 😘 @posypaper
I was just driving down to the corner shop to get chico babies and I had the radio playing. I *think* it was @emrusciano and she was chatting to her co-host about incontinence.... actually they were both in hysterics about it - you know like it's a laughing matter.
Well let's get some things straight.
Incontinence is not funny.
It's not something to be proud of.
It's not a sign of strength.
It's not just one of those things that we have to live with.
If you were listening, nodding and laughing along with them, I want you to know this:
Yes many, many women suffer from incontinence when they exercise, jump, laugh, sneeze or cough but just because it's common, doesn't mean it's normal.
Incontinence is a sign of pelvic floor dysfunction and majority of cases can be fixed with correct alignment, posture and carrying out strategic breathing techniques to strengthen the pelvic floor and core.
I'm done with hearing women laugh about how peeing their pants is part of life. It makes me all kinds of sad that they think that this is their normal.
This topic is so extremely close to me as I have experienced it. I get it. I failed to listen to my body and ended up with a prolapse and incontinence after the birth of my first daughter.
These types of conversations need to happen ALL THE TIME. It's not taboo and it's not something us women should wear as a badge of honour after having children.
There are SO many resources available to assist you in creating a fully functioning pelvic floor and I am willing and able to point you in the right direction... just message me.
