I'd rather be here but instead I'm doing all the adult things...like getting the car serviced 😕

When I think that maybe I should be going on more outings and planning more exciting activities I look into the garden and watch them play. They've whiled away the summer out there and they've got the bruised shins, mozzie bites and vivid imaginations to prove it. More #ontheblog 🌿

She's showered with adoration and affection every minute of every day. This fourth baby gig is a good one ✨

Not sure if it's the humidity, low cloud cover or planet alignment but I've been so unproductive and angst-y these past few days. What's in the air?! 🌿

Marigold is almost six months old and I sense that we're on the cusp of change...wholeheartedly recognizing and trusting my intuition. While I know that we'll navigate this next phase together, it's also a potent reminder to be present and take in all the little details. Milky skin, soft belly, clasped hands. I can still smell her newborn scent...just. It's fading, fading and so I bury my face into her neck every day and take it all in. This fleeting first year. It's so big and beautiful 🌼

Taking four kids to the beach is no mean feat. While I may resemble a pack horse as we traipse across the sand and put up the umbrella, I'm also prepared for almost every circumstance. There's hats and sunscreen, buckets and spades, snacks and water. And this summer there's @westpac's Rescue Rashie - a UPF 50+ red rash shirt that features step-by-step CPR instructions on the front. It's sunsafe, easy to spot in a crowd and so reassuring to have on beach visits. It's the ultimate in practical swimwear! If you're celebrating summer near the water, empower yourself with CPR knowledge. You won't regret it. Find the #rescuerashie at http://bit.ly/2CUAx35 #ad #safe4summer

His imagination has gone absolutely wild of late. Sparks fly and friends come to visit and fabulous dreams come true. This is one of the best things about parenthood; being privy to imaginary worlds and unhindered thoughts 🌿

Finally found a long cotton nightie for Poet complete with embroidered butterflies. Why on earth are such practical sleepwear options so hard to come by? The purchase of said nightie prompted another discussion (or speech/soliloquy seeing as though no one responded) on the importance of cotton underwear and no undies at night (because our bodies need to breathe). Life lessons. Nightie is from @precious_little_terrigal if you're wondering 💫

Bean burritos with corn salsa (and a good dose of lime, cracked pepper and coriander) is one of my go-to summer vegetarian recipes. I use Helga's Traditional White wraps which contain no artificial preservatives and 40% less salt than Mission Wraps Original, as discovered during a recent study by the University of Newcastle. I've always got a few packs in the pantry for easy, no-fuss meals. I use them for pizza bases, I oven bake them to create crisp garlic bread for dipping, and they're a great option for the kids' lunchboxes. Find them at Woolworths, Coles and independent grocery stores. #HelgasBakehouse #ad 🌽

Long holiday reading sessions are one of my favourite things. I've got a list of reserved books at the library and a growing pile on my bedside. Currently reading Anne Lamott's "Traveling Mercies". Poet's glorious book is "Florette" and it's all 🌼✨🌿🌸👌🏻

Let's be honest, we're best making #RealResolutions as opposed to lofty, life-changing goals. @organiccare_ asked me to share my advice for small, mindful changes so here's my top ten tips that will hopefully result in a simple, mindful and eco-aware new year. 1. Ditch the takeaway coffee cups and buy a keepcup. 2. Reduce single-use plastic and invest in some stainless steel lunchboxes and beeswax wrap. 3. Meal plan - it will take you 15minutes every week and will significantly reduce your grocery bill and your food waste. 4. Eat more plant-based meals. 5. Carry canvas bags with you - everywhere - so you don't need to resort to plastic. 6. Turn off your lights turn up the ambiance with a few beeswax candles. 7. Take off your shoes, walk barefoot on the grass, breathe deep and consider it a meditation. 8. Read more books, watch less screens. 9. Shop local, shop small, shop pre-loved, shop slow and buy with awareness. 10. Recognise your privilege and be grateful for your abundance 🌿

The garden is getting all Christmassy. Us? We're hanging out under the fan waiting for the southerly change to arrive! Because what's Christmas without a heatwave?! ☀️
