This weekend was the last of my physical events for the year but I will still keep training. I did not think I would ever do things so physical post injury, it wasn't until the last couple of years where I decided to be more in control of my health/fitness. I am not the fittest guy nor consider myself an athlete as I am not a specialist in any sports. I do consider myself a spinal cord injury specialist from my experience. Through the reactions from people I'm glad I was able to motivate others to start being in control of their health and life. You motivate me when I see you take control. Now time to let my body rest.
36.2 Miles ☑️ in 6:30. I can finally give Gino credit, this year after I got my recumbent bike through the Challenged Athlete Foundation he was the one who helped me build it, break it in and tune it while training me with the bike. His training throughout the summer has helped me soo much in all my physical events this year. I'm glad I could do this one with you, couldn't have done it without your support.

An amazing weekend at #RockStock that made me love Rocktape even more. Honored to be have been part of a weekend of multi disciplinary non linear approach to looking at the human body. I attended as a user, adaptive athlete and repping the OT discipline. (more need to come) I'm happy to have connected and met with so many great people!

Happy 14th Anniversary. The back story of this picture is that Aris was supposed to go with us but backed out literally right before we left. Who knows if it could've ended better or worse but we are all here, together.

It was around this time where everything was going to change. 14 years later I can honestly say that I'm in the best physical health yet I am not the most mobile, as well as mentally and spiritually stronger. Does that mean everything is all peachy and great? No, the everyday struggles of my body and the impact that it has to my mental health has been a rollercoaster. Even after all these years there are some aspects of my daily life that I have hidden from you because I chose to convey happiness in order to receive happiness from you, all of you. Thank you all for being part of my life. To those who know me before my injury thank you for not changing how you were around me and keeping in touch...I think I may have written that in your yearbooks haha. Surviving the spinal cord injury was the easy part, living with it is the hard part, even more difficult when half my body is "normal" as a constant reminder but even through it all I wouldn't have changed what happened because some of the greatest things happened because of it. I do not think of myself as special, a adaptive athlete, motivator, or any other labels that I might come across, I'm just being me and enjoying my life the best I can I hope to keep enjoying life with everyone. This is a happy post don't worry! Thanks for reading my run on late night thought. If you have any questions regarding my injury or my life just ask. Let's talk soon, keep in touch and don't change, hope you had a great summer. Happy 14th Anniversary to JC and Ryan.
