Ellie Ward, 3, of Sidney, Ohio, signs "Thank You" to Ohio General Assembly members as her father, Brandon, carries her back to their seat following his testimony during a Health Committee Hearing in support of H.B. 332 on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at the Ohio Statehouse in Columbus, Ohio. Ward, who has Down Syndrome as well as a congenial heart defect, was denied a spot on a heart transplant list because of her disability. The bill, introduced by Rep. Niraj Antani (@nirajantani), would prohibit discrimination regarding an anatomical gift or transplant based on a disability. Her story runs this weekend at #onassignment #downsyndrome #transplant #ohiolegislature #columbusdispatch

Khaled Alhedar poses for a portrait on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at a distribution center in Groveport, Ohio. Alhedar is a Syrian refugee that found a job through a local staffing agency. These local agencies send employees out almost daily to promote refugees' skills to local employers. These new Americans fill a gap for local employers that they can't fill with American-born people due to drug problems, low reliability and a lack of applicants. Khaled's story along with those of other refugees in Columbus runs tomorrow on #onassignment #makeportraits #refugees #columbusdispatch
