New shorter length mourning necklace 💧I've always loved Lapis and it's celestial blue with flecks of gold. After reading about its rich history and symbolism I knew exactly what to do with it. Last week I picked up 3 strands, 2 of which are now in the shop (guess where the other is) read about it on the website, link in bio.

{New} Introducing a special new piece created when @meaganmeli fell in love with my Arched Spiderweb Ring as it fit seamlessly with her engagement ring. But guess what? She's very afraid of spiders, so she asked me to make her a similar ring to honor her love of bats. It will soon be up for grabs for you and any other arachnophobes and Chiropteraphiles out there. Come see it in in person before it's online at the @odditiesfleamarket 🦇

Close up of the new Urn Vessel Necklace (it opens) from my last post. Secured on a long sterling chain by a clasp of solid silver hands. The fastened hands indicate the relationship between the person who has passed away and the loved ones left behind. The hands are a symbol of loss, but also of union and the hope of reunion. Now online.

{New} Urn Relic Vessel Necklace, it opens! I don't know how I was able to keep this one a secret for so long, but it's the first of the new collection to hit the website.

The top of this capsule screws off allowing you to fill its chamber. Keep close the ashes of a loved one, the fur of a fallen pet, store a love letter, a dried rose from your grandmother's garden, or a rag soaked in your favorite perfume just as the victorians did. It's up to you.

The Neapolitan Cult of The Dead, as they are referred to. They are the people, usually women, who visit and care for the the remains of the unnamed dead, those devoid of dignified burials. Today I visited a church in Naples and discovered a secret crypt in the basement. The woman pictured was visiting a skull that she has "adopted". He came to her in a dream, and told her that his name was Pasquale and he had been a doctor in life. Adopted skulls are cleaned, and cared for, visited, and brought fresh flowers. Naples is full of bones due to the centuries of war and plague.
Hello, it's me again with your daily reminder of mortality, reporting live from the family cemetery where bodies are buried in the earth for just 5 years. The remains are then removed and placed into a smaller box before finally being interred in a private family mausoleum. This is out of necessity as burial space is scarce. (P.S: this necklace is my everyday-never-comes-off 14k gold #mementomori skull with Pearl Teeth and I just added it to the website) #deathpositive
The Diamond Shake ring, a death rattle. A sprinkling of white diamonds float beneath a handcut coffin crystal. They move around! Choose between a classic half round band (top ring) or scrollwork banners for engraving (below). #mementomori #tilldeath
I'm in Naples visiting my family and remembering the very first listing on my website, this ring. Years ago while visiting I noticed that the women in my family all wore the same ring. I loved the idea that they had a piece that connected them to each other, but also held individual meaning. I went back to my studio and carved this, hoping it might look like something that could be found at an Etruscan dig. Thus the Lovesome was born. More info from my website:
Hand and heart shall never part
Inspired by the classic 'fede' ring. In italian 'mani in fede' meaning "hands in faith" usually describes two hands and a heart, in this case the heart is concealed inside of the band, for the wearer's eyes only. The band of braided hair, a reminder of everlasting love and mortality. The fede ring has been a popular symbol of betrothal as early as the 3rd century.
