Another rescue, exotic geraniums. $4ea, tough, hardy, don't mind the sun, but one is curling its toes. I'm hoping it comes good because I really like the flowers.

Last year I bought 4 vinca's and eventually they all died, as annuals do. This year, I have about 50 of them popping up, including this colour, which I don't recall having 🤔🤔🤔

Probably my best Bunnings bargain. Only $1! I wasn't sure if she'd bounce back as some just don't, but after a good prune and dunk in seasol, this native has surprised me with all her blooms 👌🏻

We have had the craziest week and a half!!! A birthday for the husband, an early birthday sleep-over party for the eldest, designing and purchasing an Ikea kitchen (in 3 days!), finishing the renovation of the bathroom and pool area, finishing the school year with the eldest graduating with some amazing awards, organising a bench top and sparky (DIY kitchens 🙅🏼🙅🏼🙅🏼), a sick kid, a sick cat, melt down city with the ASD kid, and I had an MRA and steroid shot on my shoulder to round things out. But we made it 🤗🤗🤗 The next few days will determine how much of it my garden survived 😉😉😉 Oh, and Elvis the Christmas Elf returned!!! I keep forgetting about him 🤦🏼‍♀️

The Red Candy seedlings emerged with a few days, while the rockmelon took a little longer. Still waiting on some other seedlings though. Not sure what these summer plants are going to make of all the rain we've got coming 💦💦💦

I have ummed and aaahed over this plant for weeks, and finally I gave in. 'Glamagirl Razzle Dazzle' is a mandevilla variety designed for pots and will stay smaller and bushy. I have a pink variety as well in the pool area. I think I need a magenta one (pink wink), to round out the trifecta..... 🤔🤔🤔

Zeus has welcomed Ruby's new fish Lizzie appropriately 😉😉😉 We learnt today that these small comet goldfish can get to 30cm in size and live up to 15 years! They commonly die because people don't know they actually need really large tanks or ponds to house them. Add pond to your to-do-list husband. Apparently you've got about 6 months before this tank is too small.....

The great bean harvest of 2017 👎🏻. Out with these non-producing plants and time for new seeds going in tomorrow.

Three big begonias (again from Garden Gems 😉) that will take sun and shade, some hanging baskets from Kmart, and the empty corner of the carport is fixed 💎💎💎

So we don't have room for a Crepe Myrtle Natchez that grows 8mx6m, let alone two. But meh. Husband is happy to move the washing line 😉😉😉

Despite my love-hate relationship with coleus, I'm persisting again with some new varieties that I found at my local nursery, Garden Gems. Their displays inspired me to try again. I must remember to keep pruning them and chop off the boring flowers to get solid, bushy growth 🤔

I've given up on this hibiscus. I keep blasting the pests off and treating it, but they come back. The destroyers have arrived so I'm letting nature have at it now. If the hibiscus doesn't survive, well, time for a new one then 😉

Another Bunnings rescue plant, only $2 for a big, unloved pot of 'million bells' or Calibrachoa's. The perennial sister of petunias, they're awesome ground covers or in hanging baskets and they can handle our Queensland sun. You don't need to deadhead these ladies, but can tip prune to encourage a compact shape. I love purple flowers and didn't know what I'd be getting with this bunch as it was half dead and straggly, so I'm pretty happy 🤗🤗🤗

Time is flying by and the school year is at an end! I hope the teachers appreciate the time I've taken to show my appreciation for their time. You can never have enough time I reckon. That's enough procrastinating, time to get back to work. Ooooo lunch time! 👋👋👋

So happy that my candy cane striped capsicum have taken off. The bush is growing really well, covered in lots of babies to come. The capsicum make quite the talking point when serving them up too 😉
