Well, Brooklyn is already getting mocked for having artisanal everything, so why not soy milk?

Safe travels wherever your road leads this Thanksgiving. Looking forward to Fall goodness and a short break before the busy holiday season begins.

Took a walk through the Farmer’s Market the other day and left empty handed, a bit overwhelmed by it all. Everybody is getting their shopping on for the big holiday, but it looks like we’re totally winging Thanksgiving again this year!

Out the door by 7ish this morning. Way too early. Winter is definitely here. Too cold for anyone to sit outside, except for the dogs who sit patiently by the door for their owners. #morningslikethese

Breakfast for one. The wind is fierce today, so we’ve decided that it’s a stay at home kind of day today. #morningscenes

Sneaking in some holiday spirit in the city today with the girls, before we turn into holiday cookie elves ourselves. Hope you’re having a great weekend!

Some of this year’s Fuyu persimmon harvest from my dad’s tree. Looking forward to getting some Hachiya persimmons from his other tree during Thanksgiving. Reminds me of my grandmother, though. She was the biggest recipient of his fruit harvest because she loved them so much. The bounty that we’re getting this year — much more than usual — just reminds me that she’s no longer here. #stillswithstories #persimmons

The week before thanksgiving always seem so quiet—have you ever noticed that? Maybe it’s just the quiet before the holiday rush. We’re bracing ourselves, but getting ready for it. 😊

Just another week to order our seasonal pumpkin ginger cookies sandwiches with a white chocolate filling (with a spike of white pepper). They’ll be gone from the shop soon!

Chilly Sunday mornings and leisurely breakfasts. As much as we love market season, so happy to have our Sundays back. #slowautumndays

Looking for little bits of color and treasures on our walks. Also, it seems we went straight to Winter, just as we thought we might.

Decorated the kid’s 11 year old birthday cake in Fall colors earlier this week. I think Mark’s lavender cake with lemon curd and white chocolate buttercream might be our favorite cake now. #cakesofinstagram #bakersofinstagram

Those 70 degree autumn days seem to be gone for good. Stepped outside to vote and brrrrr. Came back in and fixed a warm drink (with a side of our cinnamon malt chocolate biscotti, of course!) It’s officially cozy season, friends! #bakersofinstagram #madeinnyc

Oh there you are, Fall. Had to take a little drive to find the colors, but we found them. It hasn’t been cold enough for the leaves to turn, but some of the trees in the city now has seemingly turned colors overnight. 🍁🍂

I always smile when I still see roses hanging around in November. Some shop news: unfortunately, we will not be designing a calendar for 2018. 😞We’ve been getting inquiries about it and I know there are some of you who buy our calendars year after year, but this Fall has been so extraordinarily hectic that something had to be left off the table. We’re so sorry to disappoint those of you who look forward to our calendars! We’re disappointed too, but we’ll bring them back next year. 🙌🏼

Now that it’s Nov 1, it seems like the holiday floodgates are wide open. Not quite ready yet! But we’re checking our supplies and inventory and bracing ourselves for another holiday season. Trying-despite all that is going on around us-to enjoy what little of Fall we have this year.

Rainy wet stormy Sunday. But the first Sunday we’re all home since market season is over, and Halloween is near so the kids are super excited. #morningscenes #nycfall
