The look of intensity one gets when met with a riveting tale (i.e., Frozen). ❄️🤔 She is her mother's daughter.

I was 25 when I stayed at a boutique inn for the first time. It was somewhere in Virginia that I had found through @giltcity. There was a lot of nature, trails, a lake nearby and gorgeous rooms with impeccable character—the kind you can't find in commercial hotels. Everyone wore many hats; the concierge was also the check-in attendant who was also the guy you'd call to fix a leaky faucet. In another, the inn manager was the caterer who was also the curator. I learned that staying at an inn means experiencing some place truly unique. Every inn I've experienced was once something else: a family mansion, a civil war headquarter, a 150-year old logging mill. And since there are usually only a few rooms, the hospitality and attention you receive makes you feel like you're a true guest in someone's home. I've also found that innkeepers and inn staff are much warmer, attentive, happier, and prouder of their roles than commercial hotel managers and staff who often make me feel like an inconvenience at the slightest request (could they please ask the raging party next door to tone it down at 3am?). @airbnb is great, sure, but there will always be room for the virtues of a real bed & breakfast inn. In fact, I'd put my money on inns outliving them all.

I've wanted @ferragamo Vara pumps ever since I saw a photo of Salvatore fitting a young Audrey Hepburn for shoes in the 1950s. I've been hunting them down for years and finally found a pristine vintage pair in ivory circa the 1980s from @kranzelicvintage's @etsy shop. The same timeless shoe is still available for $575 @bloomingdales and @saks, but I scored these for $72! They even came in their original box along with a gorgeous photo of what appears to be the Grand Canyon in 1931 as a thank you card. There are only a few things on my wardrobe bucket wishlist, and I'm so happy to check this one off (and from such a sweet and prompt seller too!). #worththewait #ferragamo #vintageshop #vintagefashion #etsyfinds #balletflats #neverpayretail #audreyhepburnstyle

Last weekend, I took my first girls road trip in forever (probably since before I got married and had kids!), and I had the best time with @viv_choi just wandering around Mendocino admiring nature, trying different restaurants, staying at inns, working by a fireplace, drinking wine, driving fast, and wearing sweaters like I was back in New England. 🐑 Happy to see that the adventurer in me is still alive and well in spite of my negligence!

Los Angeles has some magnificent historic monuments, like the Biltmore Hotel on Grand Ave. When it opened in 1923, it was the largest hotel west of Chicago. I feel like I've stepped into the 1920s!

We had been planning their costumes for weeks, went back and forth dozens of times between dozens of options, finally settled on one, and then they changed their minds at the absolute last minute. Presenting: Cinderella in winter and Generic fairy 😂 I love them.
