Definitely indulged in some international cuisines with a touch of vegan today 🤓😍 Made 김밥 (Korean sushi) for lunch and attempted to make stuffed grape leaves, for the first time, for dinner. I must say, the stuffed grape leaves were a tremendous success! I'm actually still super giddy with how delicious they turned out 😁 Huzzah for new cooking adventures! 🍽
Yesterday, I received a "thank you" text from a former client. He texted me on the anniversary of the day and time when he and his family safely arrived at Akron-Canton airport as refugees from the Democratic Republic of Congo. It is so incredibly profound that he recalls the exact time he stepped foot on American soil. It draws such powerful emotions for me, especially now. Our country continues to combat racial upheavals and is blinded by a hateful fear of immigrants. But to view America from the lens of a refugee... America is still hope. #ThisIsWhatMakesAmericaGreat #NoHate #NoFear #RefugeesWelcome
Day 12: Puppy 🐶 Pose! And the last day of this challenge. I am so humbled and grateful to have participated in this challenge. I have learned so many new techniques to strengthen what I already know. I cannot wait to see the development in my practice as I continue to progress down this path. Day 7: Plow Pose! My core is a lot stronger than I give it credit for, but there's always room for improvement. When I watch this clip, the fluidity I'm looking for in my core strength could definitely be better. Day 6: Windmills!! I know that I've been doing way too much lately. My problem is that I don't realize that I'm over exerting myself until it's too late. Day 5: Handstand Plank 🤸🏻‍♀️ My entire body shook after just 30 seconds of holding and squeezing everything together 😅 I successfully held the pose for up to 50 seconds 2x. Definitely broke a sweat! Phew! #ChallengeYourselfChallenge Hosted by the wonderful @beachyogagirl 😁
Day 4: Dynamic Dolphin pose!! 🐬 I definitely felt the triceps burn 💪🏼 Definitely appreciative of these shoulder strengtheners because that's what I find to be the weakest in my practice. #ChallengeYourselfChallenge Hosted by the lovely @beachyogagirl
Day 3: Floating into Malasana!! Getting my post in a little late tonight. I've had to combat sleepiness all day and almost convinced myself I was too tired to get a workout in. But!! I opted for challenging myself 💪🏼 I did this vinyasa flow for 10 sets and I found myself scrutinizing my lack of gracefulness when I float to the top of my mat. I am constantly reminding myself that yoga is a PRACTICE and not a competition. I have made so much progress from a year ago in my practice, and I'm excited what my future practice holds for me 🌈🤸🏻‍♀️ #ChallengeYourselfChallenge Hosted by the beautiful: @beachyogagirl
Day 2: Outer hips and obliques!! Getting that Side Stretch Plank game on 😁 I did 10 sets on both sides and it was absolutely amazing how much easier it was to get to my side plank! Also, before this challenge, I never tried to rest my foot on my thigh while doing a side plank! And I did it!
