Rained this morning and when I saw the drops on the #roses I had to get a quick shot of it.

"I think we should go outside" and so we did. It's still fairly warm for late #September but at least it's not close to 90 degrees anymore. Today is a good day for visiting and taking my niece and her dog out for some fresh air.
Thank you global warming (though not really) for a very warm late #September weekend in #Wisconsin. It's one last chance to be lakeside for the year even if we don't have our dock in anymore.
It's one last summer #sunset at the #lake in #Wisconsin. This one is a late submission from last weekend's weekend trip.
Time for one last warm summer day at the #lake in #Wisconsin. While summer isn't technically over for the year in the northern hemisphere, Labor Day weekend marks the end of the summer season for many cottage owners, businesses, and lake side resorts in the northern parts of the U.S. Kids are back in school and football is already underway. I'll likely be back one last time to close our place for the year but it's been a great summer even if it feels so very short.
It's just not a summer in #Wisconsin without seeing the #peacocks at least once. While not as plentiful as they once were they're still a part of the resort on the lake.

Playing around with an idea for a personal project I've been toying with for some time. Finally broke down and purchased a photo tent last week to do this. Mind you, while this isn't the final product it still turned out well.
Shamelessly wasting time before going to see Aladdin this evening. This is what happens when you accidentally get seats for the evening show and not the matinee.

A choice lay before me on this #August Saturday. Either sit at home and lament turning another year older or get out with the camera and lament turning turning another year older. I chose the later.
Have you ever wanted to get up close to a newborn giraffe? While it may not be the real thing, Brookfield Zoo has you covered with their life sized newborn giraffe statue at their indoor giraffe viewing area. #brookfieldzoo @brookfieldzoo
"Hi, I'm a #klipspringer. I may be tiny at only two feet tall but I'm great at leaping from rock to rock." Mom and I came upon this tiny little guy at Habitat Africa on Monday during our trip to the zoo. #brookfieldzoo @brookfieldzoo
"Let's do something today." "How about we go to the zoo?" Mondays have become a chance for my mom and I to "do something" during the summer. Yesterday was no exception. Now we could have planned things better because we missed half of the zoo and I didn't bring my good camera but any trip to the Brookfield Zoo for the first time in a long time is a good trip to the zoo. It's even better when you get a good #emu photo. @brookfieldzoo
Ah, the long road home. It may not be the most visually stunning of locations but it's a sure sign that we have left Wisconsin and are in #Illinois.
So what was I so upset about again yesterday? I may not like having quick weekend getaways sprung on me at the last minute anymore but they're always so worth it once we get there. It's another quickie weekend at the lake house in #Wisconsin.

Enjoying the last bits of daylight on what turned out to be a very nice day after a wet #Wisconsin morning. #sunset🌅
Thank you Mr. Bond for creating #Paddington. We have been looking after this bear since Easter break of 1993 when he came with me from London and we will continue to look after him for a long time. May you have life after death.

Saw this little #nest on the sidewalk in front of my house. We think it came from the 40 plus year old tree in our parkway.
