Jesus has DONE the thing y’all. It is complete and fully done and there is not a thing we can do to add to it or finish it or make it more sound than our actual Savior Jesus Christ has done. How arrogant are we to ever think we need to complete this atonement for our very souls? We have been told it is done and it is DONE. We can live full lives like those who are forgiven and who have a secure place in heaven. Not because we have done a thing to deserve it or earn it but because God loves us so dearly that He doesn’t want to spend eternity without us. Live fully and free. Don’t waste another moment chained to guilt and acting like you have to earn a gift that was already given. Live enjoying the gift. {verse of the day via “the Bible app”, message translation}.

The best use of our blessings, always, is to consecrate them to the Lord. All is His. It is only by His hands that we are blessed by any means. We don’t earn, we don’t deserve, it is by Christ alone that we come to have anything. What else can we do with our blessings than to live open handed with them and live in constant praise to Him for them? In fact, living in such a way only increases the blessing in our lives. When we acknowledge the source we become active participants in its flow. A life lived in gratefulness is a life lived fully. {verse of the day via “the Bible app”, message translation}.

One of my biggest “pet peeves”, I guess you could call it, is when salvation through Jesus is presented as anything but wide open and available to ALL, as is, where we are, how we are and as messy as we are and absolutely available without requirements. We don’t need to do better or act better or be better before the Lord will accept us FULLY with arms wide open. It’s the love of God that gives us the (right) changes that we desire and nothing else. We can stumble around in the darkness for our whole lives and never get there but one day with the Lord and BOOM, there we are. His love is powerful and compelling, unlimited and ready, healing and undeterred by our messiness. THIS is the love we need to be shouting from the mountain tops about and not the measly, picky, meh love that Christians try to sell when they limit God. If the Love isn’t HUGE and all encompassing, it’s not His. {verse of the day via “the Bible app” message translation.}

The thing is, we never get away with anything. We only think we do. In reality though, we are only cheating ourselves out of a rich and full life. The kind of life that comes with living open handed with our blessings. Every good thing we come to posses is only borrowed for a little while, why do we sometimes act as though it’s an eternal claim? Life is so much more full (and fun) when we use our resources to bless others, not because they *deserve* them (because we don’t deserve them either) but because we want to obey the Lord when He tells us to love well. Sometimes that charge requires giving. Money, things, time or resources. Want to see the Lord in action in your life? Give until it hurts. See how He shows up and the cool things He will do. Not only will you get a front row seat to the Lord’s amazing works but your faith and trust in Him will grow. The bonus? Living opened handed creates blessings that actually ARE eternal. {verse of the day via “the Bible app”, message translation}.

Back on my game again this week. I was sad to miss last week but you know what happened instead? They took care of me...through prayer and rides and love. An investment in Love always brings a return. This week is chocolate chip cookies and a timely reminder. You can find both on the blog. Link in profile. ❤️

No matter what our struggle is on this Earth, it is temporary with a Savior waiting to welcome us at the end of it. That does not make our struggles easier or our burdens lighter but it does give us reason to adjust our perspective. We are reminded several times in the Bible that this world is temporary. We are only passing through so let’s make sure our focus is on the good, on where we can serve and how well we can love. Time spent on worry (which changes nothing) is time we could spend on LOVE which changes everything. There is good in every problem, struggle and set back, we just have to let it go and not cling to it for dear life. Look for it. You will find it every time and if not, know that your current lot will soon wither away and the constant of Christ will remain. {verse of the day via “the Bible app”, message translation}.

I finished her. Sort of. Now how do I really finish her, besides sanding her down and painting the edges a contrasting color? One word at the bottom? (What word?) A phrase? (What phrase?) Cut it down to a square and leave as is?....
