You had "amor fati" tattooed on you because you loved how fate worked. When I first met you, I felt like I knew you already. I remember telling you my desire to write a book about my travels and you told me to go for it. But you felt too, that it would be something. I had just came home from traveling for 3 months and hearing that you left this Earth stung me to the core. I sat on the beach with the biggest moon I've ever seen, crying, wishing you didn't go. I didn't know you long but I didn't need to. No one who met you needed to know you long to know the kind of person you were. A few months ago, I had a strong urge to wear this bracelet, which was dedicated to you after your passing. I never took it off since. Maybe you're guiding me somehow or maybe it's just your way of giving me a simple reminder to love fate. And everything works out how it's supposed to. I know you'd be jumping for joy that I actually did it. I wrote a book about my travels. Miss you @alifetothemax

I LOVE Christmas time in the city. All the cute little holiday shops start opening all around the city.

For my birthday my boyfriend surprised me with beautiful dinner. I absolutely love seafood so I was a happy girl. If you're ever in the city, I highly recommend The Sea Fire Grill.

Left: wild sea bass with brussel sprouts and mushrooms with a soy glaze
Right: Surf N Turf

I wanted to do something unique for my birthday. I found this show called the Accomplice. I won't tell you what it's about because it'll ruin the fun. But think of it like playing a big game of clue/scavenger hunt all around the city. It was SO much fun!
Its not that expensive and whether you're a local or tourist it's a great way to see the city. Make sure you wear comfy shoes!
Taking advantage of this random warm day in November to walk through the fall foliage. 🍂🍃🍁
Kind of miss commuting to the city everyday. There is always something going on and there's never a dull moment in NYC.

"But then I started hanging out with my brother’s friends from his church. I’m not religious at all, but I said just be open you may hear messages you need to hear. His friends Nick and James were great people, we all did a hike together at Mission Peak. We all woke up at 4:30 am and met at the mountain at 5 am to try to make it to the top in time to see the sun rise. It was not a small hike as James said, it was rough but not that bad. I needed something physical after feeling so emotional the last few days. We finally made it to the top and waited for the sun to rise. Out of nowhere, the clouds were moving over us so fast, we were engulfed in them. It was like waves of clouds crashing over our heads. I have never seen something like in my life. They said it was God, but it didn’t matter to me what you called it, we all felt something, we all felt connected together. A man up there with us said he’d climbed this hike forty times and he’d never witnessed what we all saw. It gave me the emotional strength and validation that everything was going to be ok. The next day my brother took me to his church. It was the first time I stepped in a church since I was five years old. I went in there with an open mind and wanted to see what my brother was enjoying. The pastor spoke about just enjoying the journey, life is an adventure. Just relax. And God gives us “Divine Delays,” something is delayed because something else needs to happen first." [Excerpt from my book--Spiritual Nomad: A Journey Within and Abroad]

Me too... * To the countless unwarranted cat calls, to the asshole in Italy who thought it was ok to sexually assault me, to the men (multiple) who thought it was ok to follow me home to try and talk to me. Men who thought it was ok to stop me in the subway to ask to take a picture because they thought I was attractive. The countless unwarranted sexual behavior in the workplace from coworkers and bosses. Even some policemen when I was an intern. Honestly the litany of this bullshit unwarranted disgusting behavior goes on.
I've seen so many posts of women and some men who have been sexually harassed/assaulted and I'm shocked how many people have experienced it. We need to raise our children that this is not acceptable no matter what and to speak up. We need to speak the fuck up because too much of this is going unnoticed and too many men (not all) think it's ok because they continue to get away with it without any consequences. So ME FUCKING TOO.
If all the women who have been sexually harassed or assaulted wrote "Me too" as a status, we might give people a sense of the magnitude of the problem. Please copy & paste. #metoo 💗✊
