“A Trip to the Moon Pt2” Meteor City Trading Post started it’s infancy as a gas station in 1938 off the famed Route 66 located just outside of Winslow, AZ. In 1941 the 1st store was built, it stood until the dome shaped store replaced it in 1979. The dome burned down in 1990, it was soon rebuilt and is the current dome still standing today. 2012 marked the closing of the stop, with no buyers & it soon fell into chaos thanks to the vandals who brought this historic place to its knees in untamed destruction. Saving is what this place needs, according to a 10 month old article on route66news.com, a couple from Indiana are looking to purchase & fix up #MeteorCityTradingPost returning it to its original glory. #route66 #getyourkicksonroute66 #instagramaz #instaaz #DPGC_UrbanDecay #filthyfeeds #sfx_urbex #rsa_preciousjunk #partnersingrime #jj_urbex #trailblazers_rurex #grime_lords #urbanexploration #unitedbygrime #autopsyofAmerica #ProTravelers #way2ill #gameoftones #globe_travel #worldcaptures #discarded_butnot_forgotten #unitedstatesofdecay #atriptothemoon #smashingpumpkins #levoyagedanslalune #georgemelies #tonighttonight

“Remember” Walking into a former concentration camp is like a punch to the face, a sick feeling overcomes you as the thickness of the air chokes out your idea of humanity, a sudden overpowering sickness shrouds your thoughts. How could anyone treat another person in that way? Dachau, located just outside of Munich, Germany was opened on March 22nd 1933 by Heinrich Himmler. This place was used as a labor camp for political rivals, Jewish prisoners, foreign nationals, Homosexuals, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Communists, Gypsies, and German/Austrian criminals. Over 31,000 people died from sickness, starvation, & being worked to death. The prisoners' entrance was secured by an iron gate with the motto “Arbeit macht frei” (“Work will make you free”). But no one was ever set free no matter how hard they worked. The US liberated Dachau on May 1st 1945 & the world saw 1st hand what a Nazi concentration camp looked like & the outrage ensued. Now Dachau is a place of remembrance, a memorial to the fallen, & a place to say, “never again”. #neveragain #Germany #Dachau #ww2 #DPGC_UrbanDecay #history #munich #urbexworld #travel #jewish #partnersingrime #neverforget #Bavaria #memorial #globe_travel #worldcaptures #worldwar2 #wwii #concentrationcamp #worldtraveler #ProTravelers #way2ill #gameoftones #canon_official #nazigermany #dachauconcentrationcamp #dachauconcentrationcampmemorialsite #munichgermany #bavariagermany
