Found this old badge during some first job in NYC was working retail at Bloomie's. Every morning as we opened the store, they played "New York, New York" over the loudspeaker - no joke! It was a bit like working in a movie about New York, which of course was what I imagined New York would be like. I did not imagine that New York would also drive me crazy often, or that I'd be here for 12 years and counting. When I stop to think about it, I'm pretty blown away at how much has happened since then. When I look back at how many different types of work I tried, I'm so grateful for all that exploration because it brought me to where I am now. If you'd told this eager but clueless 22 year-old she'd one day be a creative and work for @westelm, you probably could've knocked her over with a feather! We get so busy and we rarely have time to appreciate how far we've come, especially in NYC where we're always focused on what's coming next. Felt real nice and a little surreal to have that moment of gratitude this morning before I headed into the office. 💖#mywestelm
HBD to this jetsetting hostess extraordinaire who is equally comfortable in a hotel suite or in a teepee! Hope your day is filled with peace, love and floral pieces 💖♎️🌈✌🏻☮️love you!!!
It's hard to believe that our Jonny would have turned 20 years old today. It never gets any easier to have an empty space in our lives. As anyone who has experienced deep loss knows, the awareness of the absence of our kindest, gentlest boy may shift between conscious and subconscious - but it is always there. We all tried our very hardest to keep him here; in many moments we notice there is someone else who should be here, too, and we ache.
We take comfort in knowing that he is still here in so many ways. He was a natural at letting his light shine when he was physically here, instantly cheering anyone with that delicious, sweet smile, a kind word, or an extended hand. That light continues to glow ever brighter through the many thoughtful and compassionate deeds done in his honor both in his hometown and across the globe. He always, always wanted to help others - even in the hospital he was planning to work in pediatric oncology to help other kids who would have to face cancer - and through his legacy and the hard work of so many wonderful people, he has done so much.

Jonny, on your birthday, we remember you and we smile through our tears, channeling that bright spirit of yours and celebrating your role in our lives with profound gratitude. We love you so very much.

Hell yes. Beautiful subversive textile art by @katemadeira
It had been WAY too long since I busted out the ol' sewing machine, and I decided to learn from the pros rather than just muddling my way through it. Tonight at @brooklyncraftcompany I made this tote, (mostly) straight lines and all! Scroll through for the start to finish. Thanks for your expertise (and humor) @yespleasebrooklyn! Next stop, 140 dinner napkins...

Saturday homework at the kitchen table for the most annoying client ever (me). 🙄
