Walking on a cloud of fragrance at the Museum of Modern Art in Paris. 2 days before it evaporates.

Translating fragrance into an extra sensory experience via a cloud of perfume. Superb execution of a near impossible task. Definitely pay a visit if you’re passing through Paris over the weekend... a gift for all the senses.

A fine, clear blue day in late September. We spent the morning with wine maker Sonia; picking grapes and chatting about this year's harvest. These grapes will be fermented, twice distilled and aged in oak barrels before eventually becoming a Rémy Martin Cognac. I just have to wait a few decades before I am able to drink it! I find this aspect of Cognac making fascinating. It's cathedral thinking... work they are doing today is for the benefit of future generations.

New friends, new portraits. Shot using a shaft of natural light streaming through the entrance to a chalk quarry we visited in St Meme les Carrières. I love this type of side lighting and often use it for still life work. It can be a little harsh for some people, but I think it totally suits Carlos’ vibe.

Floating over the Grand Champagne region of Cognac in France... a hive of activity in the fields below as grapes are harvested within a two week window at the end of the growing season. Fascinating conversations with some of the @remymartin growers today. Third and fourth generation farmers who pass their knowledge down through their children. There are no computers doing the work out here. // #rootedinexception #remymartin #cognac

Late September in Cognac, France. Just arrived in the Grande Champagne region by Hot Air Balloon. I'm here photographing the stories and craftsmanship behind the famous Cognac house @remymartin. More from the flight and the rest of our day on my IG story // #rootedinexception #remymartin #cognac
