Ran my first lines of #gcode today. No errors thankfully. It's just a simple engraving of my name that I did on #AutoCAD really quick but the #CNC learning experience is cool.
Can't wait to one day build and run my own CNC router.

While building some sideskirts right now my #E36 hoodvent arrived in the mail from CNC!

This will get used to make a mold to make parts with.

I'll get started on this after I finish up parts for current pending orders/projects. That is my current priority.

But it's nice to hold something physical that's been designed with CAD. Future oroject may be done like this too for the sake of speed and being able to articulate my design thoughts into reality in a much simpler way.

And done! From 3D model to physical plug for mold making.
A hood vent designed specifically for the #BMW #E36 (2DR coupe). This vent is designed to follow lines of the hood to flow well with the car's lines. Also indents were created to avoid having a gross edge on the sides and front like other 'universal' hood vents.

So this just came in the mail! Got my certificate in Design Model Making & Rapid Prototyping!

I started this program at IVC and couldn't finish it for a bit over a year due to the last class I needed not being offered for so long. In the time I waited I even started another similar prgram at another college for the sake of staying busy and educated.
That program, Advance Technology Manufacturing, is going to be completed this semester. I just have some G.E. to finish up and I'll get my degree with this second program.
I've learned a lot and will continue to learn more. All of which I plan on using in one way or another in building and operating my own business. From composites to other interesting parts and materials. 🤓

While some fiberglass stuff cures at home, @russellbaldwin_teamhucci and I made this helpful #HowTo video for wrapping a hood with a scoop.
Wrapping hoods like this can be very tricky but with helpful tutorial you'll be flossin' in no time!

First production #E36 sideskirt out of the mold and test fitted on the car, pictured holding itself to the car. (This skirt hasn't gone through final sanding and trimming yet.) These require a 3 piece mold which I had never really worked with or made before and I learned some little things along the way.

So yesterday after laying material down in the side skirt molds I mixed up some clear casting resin with some pink glow-in-the-dark powder and made this (center, center cap?) for my wheels that can be used instead of the previously installed #3Dprinted caps. I designed these Hucci caps with CAD, 3D printed some, made a mold with them and now I can make more out of solid plastic.
It was a nice test to see what other parts I can make in the future, apart from these little caps.

Glad to witness @whaleoperator spot and see his dream car in person, a JDM #Delica. It was dank. Very clean. 4wd diesel adventure van. After being blessed with the chance to see this mighty van in person, I understand his devotion and passion for the Delica.

Still stoked to have my car driving again. Also if you've been following my SnapChat or Instagram story you'll know the last side skirt mold is about to be made and completed in the next couple days!
First couple pairs are already called for and will be headed to NorCal.

So happy to be driving my #E36 again. I missed it.
Also I couldn't be happier with this footage from my new dash cam.

The Type R hype is real. So comfy and quick for being a stock FWD car.

I'm going to have to bake a pie for my next door neighbors and write an apology letter for making them look at this thing every day.
Sorry not sorry.
Love, David.
P.s. I sweep your patio area any time it's dusty.

Currently prioritizing over fender production for my current customers/supporters but these side skirts are good to go and ready for molds and production!
I'm very pleased with these. They're fit is great; here you see them holding themselves to the car. Install will require just a few riverts/bolts/(insert choice your preferred method) as opposed to running 42 rivets down the side.
