Thankful for Helen Hunt and shearling jacket weather 🌬🏔🙏🏾
Day 2 of #AfroTech17 was filled with extremely inspirational black excellence. @ijessewilliams made me laugh and feel included, @badassboz made me tear up with pride and power, @anwarbey made me remember my imagination and @blavity gave me the space to be black, connected and inspired. I feel like I just spent the last two days at a family reunion. Thank you to everyone who spoke, sponsored, recruited and gave us all the space to simply be. What an amazing weekend. As @morgandebaun said, "let's go get this money." ✊🏾📱✨

1st day of #AfroTech17 was absolutely incredible 📱👩🏾‍💻I can't even begin to explain the powerful and inspiring energy created by a room of 2,000 black people in tech. This is EXACTLY what I needed in my life. Thank you @blavity for bringing the culture together ✨✊🏾

Happy #traveltuesday ✈️🌎 So excited to finally share my trip to Viñales, Cuba! Ever wondered what life is like outside of Havana? Check out the new vlog where I explore the countryside and embarrass myself by attempting to smoke a Cuban cigar 🙈🚬 (link in bio)

This was actually supposed to be a picture of a gorgeous lavender house in NOLA. It ended up just being me 🤷🏽‍♀️
Have such major hair that it shades you in group photos 💁🏽

In today's news, I found out that crocodiles love marshmallows 🐊💕 And that Michael Jackson owned an 18 foot alligator. Oh the things you learn in the bayou.

Ever wanted to know how to hike Machu Picchu in 5 days?? Mix 1 part muddy white water rafting, 1 part mountain biking and WAY too many days climbing directly uphill 👟🚵🏽 It was a complete honor to walk the same steps of the Incas 🙏🏾✨ Check out my new vlog on the magic of Machu Picchu (🔗 in bio) ⛰🇵🇪

Can you spot the hidden face in the mountain?? ⛰🕵🏾‍♀️ Remember those puzzles you held up to your face as a kid and slowly pulled away in order for the image to pop out?! Yeah it's kinda like that 👀

Have you watched my new vlog about how I used coca leaves to survive hiking the Rainbow Mountains 🍃🌈 I would literally take 5 steps, panic because there was no air in my lungs, tell myself to calm down, take another 5 steps and do it all over again. FOR 4+ HOURS. Best believe I cried my eyes out with joy, awe and accomplishment when I finally made it to the top. Watch me suffer through my first hike (link in bio) 👟💪🏾

Just uploaded a new vlog on how to survive climbing the rainbow mountains 🌈🏔 I barely made it in that crazy altitude, but the Peruvian llamas and massive amounts of coca leaves in my mouth helped me make it to the top! 🍃👟 Click the link in my bio and watch me kiss llamas and struggle through my first hiking experience. Proof that anything is possible 💪🏾

I was told that my nails look like In Living Color, Martin and All That. Literally every TV show I grew up watching. This is why letting the nail queen @sohotrightnail, do whatever she wants, always comes out a win 💅🏾💅🏾

I was lucky enough to get inside of the Ministry of Foreign Relations in Lima. Of course there was a strict no photo policy, so I snuck this on the way in 📸. One of the staff members told me that those white stones are actually teeth from centuries ago. There is absolutely NO evidence to support this and about a 99.9% chance it's totally false, but I love this creepy myth anyway 😉🤷🏽‍♀️ What's your favorite myth you've heard while traveling?

I'm not big on buying a lot of souvenirs. Mostly because I'm already a hoarder so I need to chill out, but one of my favorite souvenirs is from Peru 🇵🇪. If you've watched my latest vlog on Lima (🔗in bio), you'll spot them in Dédalo Artesanías. It's this little colorful bull known as Torito de Pucará 🐂, that represents luck and prosperity. According to local tradition, you're supposed to place the bull on top of your house (yes, like on the actual roof) and leave it there. This will bring good luck and prosperity to your home. Now that I have the bull, I just need a house to put it on top off 😜🏡

Just released a new travel blog of Lima, Peru! September is the international month of potatoes apparently (lol), so I'll be posting videos of Peru all month long!! 🌎✈️ Fun fact: did you know that Peru has over 3,000 different types of potatoes?!? Not a typo - 3,000!!! Carb heaven 🥔😋🍠 Also, I've moved my travel videos to Tuesday in celebration of #traveltuesday. It seemed more fitting 💁🏽 Go enjoy the new blog of Lima (link in bio of course). Let me know if you have any travel questions for Peru!
