It is so much easier to be a healthier, more conscious environmentally family, than you would think. The key πŸ”‘ is just to start making little changes to your home and diet at a time. If you’re an all in kind of person wonderful go for it, but i know for myself i felt way too overwhelmed with trying to eliminate everything β€œbad/negative” right a way. So I started with what was easiest for me as a wife and mom. Eliminating sugar and replacing it with healthy #sugarfree vegan treats. From there we just added little things here and there up to now where we have a real appreciation for the environment, outdoors and we truly are passionate about our health. .
So what im saying is you can do this!!! If you are reading this and wondering how you can every truly change as a family, start with knowing it is possible and there are so many tools out there to help you achieve it. Then choose something small and achievable to start with, something fun. .

The last week has been a bit challenging for me, I honestly had a β€œwhat am I really doing?” moment. I felt a little overwhelmed with life and questioning if im really making a difference etc, i think being a little over tired and having a sick little girl at home had allot to do with the emotions i was experiencing. I have also had to move into a quitter, easier pace physically as i can feel my body is preparing for the last bit of my pregnancy journey so with that came some time of reflection. Harvest morning vibes!!! So we have this initiative we call harvest mornings that we started a few weeks ago and it is really awesome. I get to try out all my foodie ideas, teach people about healthier plantbased options and we have amazing fellowship doing it. We share food, hearts and art. This morning we celebrated out bodies aswell I taught a stretch class before the feast and then we indulged in some yummy treats πŸ˜‹πŸŒˆπŸ’š

Toast vibes!!! Looooooooove bread but often find if its not good quality yeast or wheat used i bloat and feel awful, so its a rear occasion in our home πŸ™„ but we loooooooooove it when it comes around! πŸ˜‰ have an amazing day lovelies and remember just that, you are so so lovely!!!

#35 weeks im starting to really prepare myself and the house haha, for our little human on the way. We have some extreme nesting happening at home, im throwing out all the clutter and keeping only the essentials, a way harder task than you would imagine!!! View from the top today, berries galore!!!! This is a berry smoothie very simple, 1 x cup mixed berries, 1 x cup mango, 1 banana, 1/2 x cup pitaya 😊, half an avo. Topped with 1 x cup coconut flakes and 1 x cup mixed blue and raspberries. Awesome to clean out the gut a little and low gi.
Parenting has nothing to do with perfection. Perfection isn’t even the goal, not for us, not for our children. Learning together to live well in an imperfect world, loving each other despite or even because of our imperfections, and growing as humans while we grow our little humans, those are the goals of gentle parenting. So don’t ask yourself at the end of the day if you did everything right. Ask yourself what you learned and how well you loved, then grow from your answer. That is perfect parenting.

Small little platter with all the goods, loooooooove these dried gooseberries by Superfoods. The little human literally eats them like sweets.

1/2 x cup blueberries
1 x frozen banana
1 x cup mango
2 tblsp hemp powder
Topped with coconut flakes and other fresh yum!!! Also some homemade rawnola, i will post an awesome recipe for this soon. Quick easy and very nutritious!!! ....
This is a very tasty smoothie and also great for banters!! @faithfultonature makes it so easy to get all your smoothie extras like plant proteins and coconut flakes. You can also buy many of their products in bulk, which is perfect when this is basically your staple food haha πŸ˜‚
#week34 wow time has truly flown by 😱. But this is an honest post, this pregnancy has been such an amazing time of growth for me. I have taken these last few months to really focus on who i want to be specifically as a mother and wife. But also as a part of society. .
For so many years, i have spent all my energy trying to be someone that fits into the perfect little boxes the world puts up around us. But the truth is i have never really been able to fit those boxes, this use to bring me so much pain, when all the while i could have been living in the creativity and freedom that always burned to flourish within. .
So here is my hope, if you are reading this and have so much creativity threatening to bust from within. Take the leap!!! Not everyone will understand and want to be part of your journey. Know that this is ok! Somewhere out there your creativity will touch the world and create new beauty. πŸ“Έ @yesandphotos so talented!!!

Mango and chia bowl topped with all sorts of yum πŸ˜‹ have you tried chia? Its an amazing add to smoothies especially if you’re wanting it to last you through the morning. #chia
So this Friday we had another Harvest Morning, celebrating the goodness of God in our lives and the fullness of the harvest no matter what the circumstances around us are saying. It was rather unplanned and quite impromptu but it was awesome!!! Our aim with these mornings is to create awareness around plant based meals for families and how easy it can be to follow a healthier more wholesome diet. .
Here is an awesome recipe for a yummy Vegan burger patty:
Makes 6 - 8 large patties
100 g (Β½ cup) millet
100 g (Β½ cup) organic red or white quinoa
2-3 cups water
500 g beetroot 4 - 5 large beetroots
1 x 400 g tin organic chickpeas, drained and rinsed
3 Tblsp crushed garlic
1 tsp dried chilli
1 tsp organic ground coriander
1 tsp organic ground cumin
1 tsp organic dried origanum
Zest of 1 organic lemon
Sea salt
Freshly ground black pepper
Extra Virgin olive oil
Preheat oven to 200C and place, pealed and diced beets into the oven. Covered with olive oil and seasoned well with salt and pepper. Takes about 30-40 mins.
When tender place into blender with chickpeas and pulse until well blended.
In a pot place, millet and quinoa, with water and sea salt. Cook for about 20 mins and add to beets and chickpeas in a bowl.
Add all the spices and mix together making sure everything is well blended and mixed into each other. Should be a thick consistency that can be rolled gently into a ball in your hands.
Lastly make into patties by hand, place on a lightly oiled baking try and bake at 180C for about 20-30 mins until outer layer is crispy.
Whola! Add to buns with your toppings of choice!
