Unsheath your blade and cut my skin down to the soul.
Or glorify my sadness for profit that vanishes in a puff of illegal smoke.
Weaponize my madness, the devil's thirsty for a show.
Fuck me 'til I'm lonely so I can finally let you go.

This book is very good. It deals with mental illness in such a beautifully visceral way. •

For a moment, I fancied myself a specimen and surgeon in one. So great was the pain in my head, that I contemplated cutting it out like a malignant tumor. This was the error in my code speaking. If only because the pain in my soul felt more real than any physical ailment. More pungent, yet without reason or rhyme. Thus it demanded a sacrifice of sanity, which I refused for now. I’m terrible with knives, you see.

Yo you ever think of old friends who turned out to be shitty people? Do you think that in their version of history, you were the shitty one? I'm thinking that's it, cause I swear they'd rather die than apologize.

I was wearing this robe at the movie theater, standing still in the lobby when the cutest little girl walks up to me and asks "Are you a boy or are you just standing there?" 😭😂😍 She thought I was a prop.

#writingprompts - We were smitten by the very gods that made us. •
Yet they were hardly gods at all. Their weapons ensured that we'd be sent so far backwards in the evolutionary chain they had crafted, we'd hardly know the difference. A flawed yet ultimately superior analogue existence to their transcendent one.
Being one dimension below them made us perceive much less, but feel so much more. A pittance in their eyes, but a source of meaning in ours. We reveled against them in millenia of war meant to free them as much as it meant our freedom. Yet their alien existence concluded ours by destroying our advanced civilizations, eliminating any species capable of rapid evolution or dimensional memory, and genetically depreciating the remaining one. The Eves became a shadow of their emotional bodies. Mammals like monkeys their closest analogue. Sevaints became snakes and lizards. Their crossbreed birthed the birds and the Aquivs became mere fish. We, however, remember still.
Somewhere in our genetic code lies our pride, dignity, and desires to restore our planets and ideals to their former glory.

They’ll never quite see the real us, beneath the shell of weathered acting, but their love for the part they do see is almost enough. Perhaps good enough to hold us together for another winter.

The weather tethers to the brim of my emotions. The way it changes from summer to snow at whim unknown. Polar caps melt in unison with my sanity and reason. What a tragedy will it become when we’ve seen the last of our seasons. #

She said "you're properly beautiful, boy... But you never start anything." and I wish she hadn't been right.

My photos are so trash. Idk. I kinda try to capture intimate and abstract emotions, but it gets lost in translation.

I fall in love with everyone, just a little. Perhaps the idea of who they could be fascinates me to no end.

- Short Story
The end of the world never ceased to be a spectacle of beauty and horrors every time Sadie experienced it. You’d think one gets used to the whole ordeal after a few thousand years between worlds. She postulated it might have something to do with the disembodied voice that announced its destruction every damn fucking dive. “SIMULATION ENDING IN 30 SECONDS”
She even theorized it had something to do with the fact that she only ever realized things like her husband of 50 years was just a computer program. “SIMULATION ENDING IN 15 SECONDS”
She had just finished the garden too, goddamn it, but there it was abruptly disintegrating into a glitchy mess along with the fucking cat. That was the only solace from it all. Princess Fluffy was the bane of her existence. She was glad the cat was dead now. Gleeful even. “RESTORING MEMORY BACKUPS”

Ah, yes. This part was nice too. She slowly remembered herself and all her other selves bit by bit. Particularly that her real name was Naomi, a 22 year old Inter-Dimensional Ecology Student from Old Maine, Cerulean District 41. “SIMULATION ENDED”

And just like that, she was in the Office of Memoirs, rummaging through a few dozen holofiles containing the memory imprints of small-time yet important members of parliament again. “Anything useful?” said Evan, emerging from a dive with a face of frustration. “Nothing useful, unless you’re interested in the net worth of Senator Sadirah’s cat” replied Naomi, echoing her disdain for that devil feline. #shortstory #prologue
