The swans of Schwangau are quite friendly. They just walked up and sat down next to me when I was squatting to take a picture of the water. It entertained me for a good 10 minutes.

The childhood home of Ludwig II. This tour lasted much longer because all the rooms were complete. There was a wedding gift there for Ludwig's parents: two weapons and a gold shield. Curious why we didn't get that for our wedding... 😆

We visited a real life fairytale. This place is incredible. The snowfall from the night before made everything look extra magical. We hiked up to the castle instead of waiting in line for a carriage ride. Only one passed us on the way up so I'm glad we didn't! The tour itself is short as most of the castle wasn't completed. The completed portions didn't disappoint!

The exterior of the prisoner area was escape proof. A ditch, barbed wire, an electric fence, a dead zone, a wall, and a canal. SS soldiers patrolled the dead zone a would shoot anyone in it.

Inside a replica of the original barracks. They changed a few times to accommodate the growing prisoner population.

We stopped at Dachau Concentration Camp on our way out of town from München. It is the grayest place I think I've ever been. Everything was gray or beige. So eerie. The original barracks were torn down but much still remains.

Füssen you magical place you. This town was straight from a snow globe when we arrived. We went to a Christmas market in the heaviest of snow and it was amazing. Every street is picturesque and Schwangau is the shortest bus ride away.

Took an afternoon pitstop to Panorama Tower to see the whole of Leipzig before the game.

We *almost* surprised David with a champions league game. He figured it out a few hours before. Still an amazing experience!

I was surprised with a visit to a 360° panorama of the titanic. It was housed in the old gas buildings for the city. One of the buildings permanently houses a panorama but the panorama changes every few years.

We also stopped at the Nazi Rally grounds on our way out of town. It's a weird feeling knowing you were standing right where Hitler did. The rally grounds (partly demolished) were one of the few Nazi buildings completed. All completed buildings were in this complex.

We visited the Nazi Documentation Centre. It's in a very large colosseum that was never finished but meant to be a Congress hall. It was very informative and quite depressing. Worth a visit though.

This lady told us how Albrecht used to make prints and loaded up an old Guttenberg press replica and I got to turn the arm to press the paper and keep the print!
