First day on @chalkygrip’s new program (there’s an excel spreadsheet and everything 😁) and everything felt heavy af. I’m 2 days late for transformation Tuesday but, whatever, here’s the transformation of my squat between set 1 and set 6 of 4 at 90kg. I went from ‘fuck this is heavy’ to ‘this is how I die’ but they could definitely look worse and I’m happy with depth🙅🏼‍♀️. You can tell things are getting serious when I break out my comp t-shirt 😆. Sick of messing around on 95kg so @bro_barney suggested doing ascending sets of 3 on 95, 97.5 and 100kg (vids in reverse order).This is a definite pb as I’ve never done 100kg for multiple reps after heavy working sets. I’m also pretty happy with how easy these were (not at all, actually, but I didn’t die despite what my face suggests ☠️). Top set probably RPE 9. What a difference 24 hours (and a massive burger) can make!! Today’s upper body session was mega, with a bench rep pb of 4x4 on 47.5kg (thanks for the lift off and spot @sam_wells213 😉). And as I was feeling strong I did my chin ups weighted and managed three sets with 5kg added which is definitely a pb too. I think we can all agree that I shouldn’t accidentally wear @chalkygrip’s socks to the gym again 😬. Light squats were a bit 💩 today. I wasn’t up for it, feeling a bit run down. So I tried to get something positive out of the session (well, basically @bro_barney told me to pull myself together 🤷‍♀️). Major positive is my right heel is behaving itself. Also I’ve discovered a new form of torture...3-2-3 tempo squats which I used today for technique work but will use in future whenever I fancy making 70kg feel like 100kg 😆First vid is the tempo squats, second is my working sets 4x6 on 85kg. Deadlifts today. 3x3 at 115kg (254lb) felt smooooooth. Followed by my first time doing deficits. Played it safe with sets of 3 on 100kg which was a bit too easy but loving them (well to be fair I’d love any deadlift accessory that isnt sumo 😂). #progress #girlswhodeadlift #deadlifts #girlswhopowerlift #ukfitness #ukfitfam

Project fix my wonky squat continues with heavy squat day. I’ve been doing the exercises that @catherinechambersmassage prescribed for my collapsing arch, and focused on holding the weight on the outside of my foot and pushing my knees out. It is helping 😀. 5 sets of 2 at 95kg programmed but was feeling easy so did 3 reps for the last couple of sets. #progress #girlswhosquat #girlswhopowerlift #wonkysquat #ukfitness #ukfitfam

Poverty bench progress report. PB of 52.5kg which is 2.5kg up on my comp best. Touch and go but still a pretty big pb for me 😀. Tried 55kg after this but it stapled me 😂. But 55kg was moving pretty nicely with the slingshot 🙌(second vid). So much fun! Heavy squat day went great today. 3 sets of 4 on 92.5kg (204lb) at rpe 8. I’m really pleased with how this final set looked-depth for days, decent bar path and right heel behaving itself 😃😃. Gotta stop expecting the weight to feel light just cause I’ve squatted it before. Today I gave the weight on the bar a bit of respect and am happy with the outcome. So this set of 3 on 117.5kg is technically a rep pb but tbh it’s been a while since my deads have looked this suspect so I’m a bit meh about it 😏. Previous sets (112.5kg and 115kg) weren’t much better. Definitely overshot my rpe today 😂😂. Oh well progress is progress 🤷‍♀️. Thanks for the behind the scenes encouragement @chalkygrip and @bro_barney 🙌🙌. Squat pbs are my favourite!!! First time ever with 110kg (243lb) on my back and I’m really happy with this!! Little sticking point but potentially more in the tank. Dropped down to 3x3 at 92.5kg, some heavy hip thrusts and then some kettlebell split squats to finish. Weekend made 😀😀😀#progress #pb #squat #girlswhosquat #girlswhopowerlift #ukfitness #ukfitfam

Rare sighting of me training upper body because even I’m sick of squat videos 🤷‍♀️. Today’s main lift was bench, sets of 3 on 46kg but I forgot my 0.5kg plates so I did 5 sets of 2 on 47.5kg which was easy and as I measure my bench progress in grams not kgs (😩) I’m happy with that! Then pin press sets of 5 (pins maybe too high but couldn’t be arsed to set up again, last set shown), dumbbell shoulder press (8s) then “something tricepy”. I supersetted these rope thingies with rear delt flys. All good!! 😃 #progress #povertybench #girlswhodontreallybench #ukfitfam#ukfitness

3x3 deadlifts today aiming for rpe 8/8.5. I undershot to start with on 110kg then went for 112.5kg before finally getting it about right on set 3 with 115kg which is fairly typical of me when using rpe. The videos are in reverse order. The set on 115kg looking much speedier than when I did a triple at that weight about a month ago, so a 3x3 on this weight is progress (it wasn’t that long ago that a 3x3 on 105 was a struggle). 😃😃 #progress #deadlifts #girlswhopowerlift #girlswhodeadlift #ukfitness #ukfitfam

Really enjoyable and challenging light squat session today. 4 sets of 6 at 82.5kg (second vid) - struggled to keep tight as I have ab doms (I did my twice-yearly ab exercises on Friday 🤷‍♀️) but they felt good. Then 5 count paused squats on 60kg (first vid), focussing on exploding out of the hole and not relying on my back. They don’t look particularly explosive but I found these tough!! Squats today-nothing exciting but 5 sets of 2 at 92.5kg feeling good and, for a heavy squat day, a bit too light tbh (RPE 7 maybe). Right heel behaving itself more than usual because of literally 45 minutes of stretching omg am I going to have to do that every time I squat now🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️. Then split squats which were utterly wretched (🐑❄️ that’s meant to be a lamb on ice, which is what I resemble doing split squats. First outing for my SBD belt and tested it with a top single at 105kg (231lb) at RPE 8.5ish which I’m happy about as I haven’t squatted that much since comp in November. Then a smooth 3x3 at 90kg ft. my irritating right heel/hip combo making everything look wonky. Belt felt great but not as great as taking it off 😂😂. #progress #squats #sbd #ukfitness #ukfitfam

I’ve abandoned Candito until my next pre-comp peak because I suspect he was trying to kill me ☠️. Plus I struggle to deadlift after squatting which is great cause it’s not like I have to do that in comp or anything 🤷‍♀️. So back to my tried and tested programming from before my last peak, starting off nice and easy with 4 sets of 6 at 80kg feeling like an empty bar 😃😃. Scrolling through my posts I found this video of me squatting 75kg. Fast forward 2 years to the second video from a couple of weeks ago. Same weight on the bar, same bodyweight, very very different squats. I beat myself up about my squat constantly (often for good reason 🤦‍♀️).
