First day on @chalkygrip’s new program (there’s an excel spreadsheet and everything 😁) and everything felt heavy af. I’m 2 days late for transformation Tuesday but, whatever, here’s the transformation of my squat between set 1 and set 6 of 4 at 90kg. I went from ‘fuck this is heavy’ to ‘this is how I die’ but they could definitely look worse and I’m happy with depth🙅🏼‍♀️. Followed by sumo deadlifts (which I hate) and pendlay rows (which I ❤️❤️). #progress #squats #newprogram #girlswhopowerlift #ukfitness #ukgitfam #justsawthattypo #keepingitcauseitsfunny

Apparently total neglect is the key to progressing with body weight exercises. Before the meet in November I hadn’t done 1 pull up in over 6 months. This is a pb of 1.5 reps with 10kg added (after 5 sets of body weight pull ups and a single with 10kg before this set). I’m thinking about taking the same approach with squats which have been feeling like 💩. Look out for my 120kg single in June 👌. Thank you @bro_barney for videoing even though I told you to f*** off for making me do more than one rep. I could never be a bodybuilder 🤣 #progress #pull-ups #girlswholift #ukfitness #ukfitfam

5 sets of 2 at 95kg (first video) feeling good and then 3x3 paused at 90kg (second video) also pretty easy. Not sure why I can pause 90kg for sets of 3 yet still worry about working sets at 95kg. I am a riddle wrapped in an enigma 🤷‍♀️. Just when I think I’m getting my training mojo back I take a video from behind (3rd pic). Wtaf is going on with my hip😬😬. Problem for another day. Great upper body session today ft. 6x4 on bench at 42.5kg followed by weighted dips. The last time i tested these I got 2 reps with 15kg added. First video here is 2 reps with 20kg added (and @bro_barney shouting for the third rep smh). The second is a pretty sketchy, ridiculous looking rep with 25kg added. Pleased with that progress. Last day off program, hungover and with my abs still really sore from not training abs the other day (🤷‍♀️), I was intending to take it easy but these had me gassed. Paused deadlifts at 90kg (198lb) for sets of 5 after an easy top single of 115kg. Might include these in my accessory work 💪#progress #girlswhopowerlift #ukfitness #ukfitfam

When you’ve lost weight for a meet and can suddenly do more than 3 pull ups in a row 🤣🤣. Thanks @laurenfitness for the video evidence 😊. Meet recap: After having a stomach upset all week and weighing in too light, I felt shocking this morning 🤢 and nearly pulled out at the last minute. Squat opener was called for depth and I thought I was going to bomb out. But the atmosphere and support at @astorpowerlifting today helped me pull it back and I ended up going 7 for 9 with 3 meet pbs and 2 all time pbs 😃😃😃. Best lifts were 105kg squat, 50kg bench and 125kg deadlift at 55.6kg. Giving me a 280 total and a 331 Wilks. Wish I could tell you this was me doing tempo squats 🤣but it’s actually a slow-mo video of the pause squats I did after testing openers yesterday. Technique has nowhere to hide so I think slow-mo videos will be useful when I’m back on a programme. Pause looks ridiculously long but in reality was probably 0.07 seconds. 1-4 reps at 120kg (265lb) today (2.5kg off my pb) and got 2 fairly easy reps (and would have got a third if I hadn’t lost position putting the bar down after the second rep). Went for a 125kg (276lb) pb after this for shits and giggles (why not, 1 week from comp 🤷‍♀️) and got it pretty easily!!! Great way to finish peak week. I think we may have an opener?!! 100kg (220lb) for 4 fairly comfortable reps. And I wasn’t feeling the best today, so I’m chuffed 😊😊😊. Successful ‘extra’ session today because I couldn’t come to Norwich without going to @phoenixgymnorwich1. Top double at 100kg at RPE 8ish which bodes well as I need to get it for 4 next Tuesday. Followed by 5 sets of 2 paused at 90kg which felt easy peasy. Just wanted to get a bit of extra volume in. I’ve just started week 4 of my first ever proper peak and I’m struggling a bit at the moment. The weights this week are highish and reps lowish, which normally suits me, but my energy is non-existent. Still getting it done though. Squats (3x3 at 90 beltless, 92.5 and 95kg) then 2 sets of 6 deadlifts at 102.5kg which was fine but sloppy. Week 3 day 3 called for squats (4-6 reps @ 92.5kg/204lb) followed by a set of 8 on a deadlift ‘variation’, which I ignored and did normal deadlifts @ 100kg (220lb) which is, I think, a rep pb for me and I’m pleased with how they look (not, though, with how my face looks 😬).
