@luis_m_ was on his way with his dog to the track early this morning. He was driving his truck with two of his bikes in the back when a wrong way drunk driver caused a horrible crash leaving one driver dead. Luis and his dog survived as are being treated at the hospital. ... A driver traveling the wrong way on Interstate 5 in Sorrento Valley was killed Saturday after crashing head-on into another driver, officials said.

CHP said the wrong-way driver – who has not yet been identified – was in a red Honda traveling south on northbound I-5, just north of Carmel Mountain Road, at around 3:50 a.m. A driver in a white Toyota pickup truck approached the area and the Honda slammed into the truck.

CHP officials said the driver in the Honda suffered critical injuries and died at the scene. The driver of the truck suffered major injuries and was rushed to Scripps La Jolla.

Officials said a dog was also hurt in the crash and taken to a veterinarian for treatment.

The impact from the collision left debris scattered all over the freeway and led CHP officer to temporarily shut down traffic in the area. The pickup truck had been carrying some motorcycles in its bed and those motorcycles wound up in the roadway, along with chunks of the wrecked vehicles.

A motorcycle accident was reported in Lake Elsinore on Wednesday afternoon, February 14.

The collision occurred at about 3:20 p.m. in the 17248 block of Grand Avenue, according to a local news source.

The authorities said that a motorcycle collided on the roadway for unknown reasons.

Officials of the fire department who were dispatched to the scene found the rider down on the roadway.

Paramedics attended to the injured rider. However, the extent of the injuries sustained by the motorcyclist was not disclosed.

The condition of the involved motorist was not provided.

4;50PM NORTH HOLLYWOOD @z__russia went down, “brakes failed bought the bike yesterday with mechanical defects that I checked but apparently after riding it for a day the brakes gave out. No injuries at all, full riding gear saved me completely. Frame snapped in three places and engine came out of the bottom”

Yesterday. A motorcyclist was injured following a collision with a car early Thursday morning on Highway 14 in Acton, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision happened around 4:40 a.m. along the southbound lanes of Highway 14, just North of Crown Valley Road.
CHP officials said that a motorcycle and a red Nissan car collided for unknown reasons. When authorities arrived on the scene, both involved parties were on the right shoulder and the rider had complained of injury to his foot.
Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene and provided medical attention to the injured rider. It was not indicated if the patient was taken to a medical facility for further evaluation.

Last night. A motorcycle rider was reportedly down in a crash on eastbound 10 Freeway, just east of Oak Glen Road around 8:52 p.m. Thursday.
The victim was rescued in the first lane. According to the California Highway Patrol, the motorcycle was recovered in the right side of the road. A Chevrolet Trailblazer and another vehicle were found in the center divider.
The condition of the rider was not yet known. An ambulance was called on scene for rescue.
Fire officials closed the 1st lane while rescue and clearing operations were performed in the area.
The cause of the pile-up remains under investigation by the CHP.

A motorcyclist was killed following a traffic collision Friday morning on 15 Freeway in San Diego, according to the CHP.
The fatal collision happened around 6:31 a.m. on the southbound direction of 15 Freeway, just North of Miramar Way.
Responding officers recovered at least 5 vehicles, unknown if they were all involved in the accident. A blue Toyota Camry was blocking the rider that was lying down the roadway. The rider was reportedly struck by a semi truck but no further details were provided.
Emergency crews were called to the scene to provide life-saving measures, however, the rider did not survive and was killed in the crash. Information on the victim’s identity was not immediately available.
A SigAlert was issued at 6:46 a.m., blocking several freeway lanes for about an hour while officers and crews worked on the scene. By 7:30 a.m. traffic was backed up to Highway 56.

A fiery crash involving a big-rig and several other vehicles killed at least five people early Friday afternoon in Rialto, leaving both directions of the 10 Freeway closed for hours, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The big rig was traveling westbound on the 10 shortly before 1 p.m. when, for an unknown reason, it veered toward the median, crashed through the guardrail and burst into flames near the Riverside Avenue exit, according to CHP Officer Brian Alvarez. apparently a concrete pump truck, continued to travel across all eastbound lanes, striking multiple other vehicles, he said. At least five people were killed in the chain-reaction crash, according to CHP.  An unknown number of vehicles caught fire, Alvarez said.
5 vehicles were involved, including a motorcycle. The agency's incident log initially indicated the total number of vehicles could be up to eight.
The crash site spanned all lanes of the eastbound 10, with the big rig overturned and a dump truck on a grassy area on the side of the roadway. Two cars appeared to be totaled.
First responders are still searching the scene for possible additional victims, according to Carapia.
"In my 10 years, it's probably the most horrific I've been to," he said. •••••••••••••••
