Anyone else stay up all night trying to work out the new algorithm rhythms, got confused then pawed over everything @__nitch has ever posted, bought clothes for occasions they haven’t been invited to and spent an imaginary 1/2 million digital dollars on items for their new bookshelf that might not even be at drawing stage? Yes, me neither. I did find this divine wig though from @davidmallett cabinent of curiosities. And if you believe in signs it might be the sign you need to come to Tokyo with me to the biggest flea market in Japan this April! (See my previous post). This is possibly your sign, it was for me at 2 am. #theschoollovestokyo #andtheOedo #youarewhatyouflea #comefleaeatandseewithme #linkprofile

And then after here we are going to a special place where we will make our own ink! I have wanted walnut ink my whole adult life (and Klein blue for home party handwritten invites). Come with me to Tokyo. The largest open air flea market, custom ink making, kitchen street, @juliaostro food shopping, @maybelleimasa paper supplies. It’s going to be heaven. Especially the walnut ink part. Link in bio, #theschoollovestokyo and 2019 trip also up.

Another gorgeous evening with @armadilloandco, whose work in India will make you feel giddy with pride. Their rugs beauty is elevated even higher when you consider their ethics and social conscious.
3 long years in the making, @theschoolinstagram Natural Dye weekend is almost here! I literally can’t wait. Nor can @joannafowles . Dye data sheets, local and Indian colours, silks, cottons and untold beauty where Mother Nature meets natural alchemy. Link in profile for this weekend in Sydney. The only other opps for this class is August and again in October, some potential results on Stories. No experience needed just an appreciation for all the good things and fascination with how they are achieved without harm. You will never look at an avocado seed, kaput flower or pomegranate in the same way again!

Is it fair to start a new week with marigold eyes? Re-entry is hard, made easier by great Indian memories. #theschoollovesindia and we are back in October. (If India has been on your bucket list, consider our 5 days in Jaipur and Pushkar Rose Farm side trip, because you only live once and India is truly incredible. Link in profile)

Happy 💯birthday to my grandmother, the gracious Jean Newton! Still living independently (her tips for domestic bliss are featured on page 159 of my #itsbeautifulherethebook) her speech today ended with ‘life can be hard for everyone, just try to be kind’. Portrait by @aimeeleahthompson. #thisis100

I just got a love letter from Dierdre @dpontbriand who came from USA to India with me / @theschoolinstagram and it’s better than a macchiato and avocado toast in bed. Filled with ‘thankyou’s’ and ‘It was the best trip of my life’, ‘all your details didn’t go unnoticed’ and ‘It felt like the trip was just for me’. I am so so happy. #rereading #becauserentrytonormallifeishard #everythingwasforyou #andyou #andyoutoo #theschoollovesindia #theschoollovestokyo #theschoollovesparis #theschoollovesafrica

I have been taught by the most gracious of women (that’s you @marinasgo, Judy Kieran, Linda Brown, @lisa_wilkinson and @rachelleunr). And I get to travel and work with amazing women (that’s all of YOU legends who I have had the pleasure to meet through @theschoolinstagram). So for International Womens Day consider a donation to @sotheycan so people like Mama Willy can mother Africa’s orphaned. Or come meet her in real time with me in July (link in bio) where your ticket includes a tax dedicated donation to this amazing charity set up by a group of incredible women who I am lucky enough to know as friends and colleagues, who after thinking about their privilege and the poverty after a Safari holiday decided to do something very real about it. My maiden trip to Africa is in today link in profile. I am bringing my eldest daughter because I want her to never underestimate her power as a woman. But more so her power as a woman in a position to always be looking to help other women.
