Another image from my photo date with Laura-Ashley. This is something of a metaphor for how I feel about my daughter… and how often I pray for heaven to light her path and keep her safe from harm.

Today I wrapped up a leadership consultation with a group in the medical space. The founders of this company were immediately impressive and authentic and it was a great experience.
As I hailed an UBER to head to the airport, I was greeted by a man from the Phillipenes. I could tell right away there was something special about him.
As we drove to the airport he told me about his family. His 3 children are living with him, while his wife is stuck in the Philippines. He described his life being a 'single father' and how much he loved his girls. He worries about their well-being and wanted them to have a good life. As he shared his story and his struggle, we were both in tears. 30 minutes prior we were complete strangers, but we left as friends.
I have never met an ordinary person in my life - and this good man was no exception. Part of me wanted to cancel my flight and spend the day with him so I could learn more about his life and story. I wanted to take photos of his life and then turn the camera around and show him how amazing he really is.
There's a saying, "those who confuse success with significance will live a deeply unfulfilled life." As far as I could tell, this man was living a life of significance - and that's all that really matters, in the end.
I’m facilitating a leadership workshop this week in Longbeach with a remarkable company in the cruise line industry. I love watching the lights turn on in the eyes of people when they discover the deeper role core values has in their lives and in leadership.

In sunny Longbeach to teach a custom 2-day leadership workshop to a company in the cruise line industry. Next time, we need to add a cruise to the fee.

Natalie offered to make our home a restaurant for Ethan’s prom. It was so fun! Love this young man and his friends.

Ethan won first place in a state film competition today. He’s going to Atlanta to compete in a national competition in June. I’m sure if they had a blue steel competition, he’d win that smoldering look as well. 🙂

I’m a still very much a student of photography, but when I take portraits, I always try to capture my subject‘s less obvious emotions. They make for more interesting portraits, in my opinion.
P.S. I really adore my daughter.

I took my daughter on a photo shoot the other day. We captured some great portraits on my DSLR, but sometimes a simple iPhone photo is enough.

I just stumbled into a precious photo tucked away in one of my old wallets. My heart melted when I saw my sweet daughters smile. I took this photo with me on all my business trips and was always so grateful to have a sweet daughter like her. One day, when she has a family of her own, she’ll begin to understand how much I love her. I guess that’s the way it goes. At least that’s the way it was for me; I never understood the depth of love until I had a family. My world changed for the better the day we had Laura-Ashley. Lucky world. Lucky me.

Soooo ... we have a family tradition of playing some really intense games of hide and seek. Tonight, Wyatt and I were playing in the basement and I thought it would be a good idea to wear one of my Halloween masks and scare him when he found me. I scared him alright. To make things extra scary, I lowered my head toward him and growled loudly. He immediately punched me in the nose and I started bleeding. I won’t be doing that again. 🤨

Five years ago, almost to the day, Natalie and I took our family sleigh riding in Park city. That was Mitchell‘s last outdoor activity in mortality. I took the boys on another adventure to the same place we took Mitch. It was so much fun! #mitchellsjourney
