“The energy from the runners, spectators and volunteers make Chicago Marathon my favorite day of the year. Seeing the same musicians, coaches and spectators year after year is so inspiring. When I race, I think outside of myself by being appreciative of the weather that day, the scenery, the other runners, my family, my friends, the world … the list goes on. I focus on others because I know I’ve completed all my training, which allows me to settle into a rhythmic pace and not overthink — at least until I hit a wall.” - HOKA fan and Chicago Marathoner, @elinalexander #timetofly (📸 @ryanmillier)

“I love having Timber come along on my runs, though I have to be sure to plan around him. Since he’s barely 10 months, it's important for me to remember he is still growing and that I have to be careful how much I exercise him. The hikes or runs I take him on depend on how much he has done the days prior and how difficult the one I plan on doing is. I always make sure to ask myself what the conditions of the trail may be and how many kilometers I plan on going so that I never put him at risk of getting hurt or exerting more than he should be.” - HOKA photographer @brookewillson on her adventures at the Spray Lakes Reservoir, Canada #timetofly #womenwhofly #HOKAspeedinstinct

“Both Canmore and Spray Lakes are located in Alberta, Canada and are very picturesque since they’re surrounded by mountains. Banff isn’t far from either location and it’s a place people come to visit from all over the world. No matter how often I am in these areas, I always tie up my running shoes and hit the trails. It’s always a great experience. From the the mountains, to the trees, to breathing in the crisp mountain air, it's a place I can completely let loose in.” - HOKA photographer @brookewillson on her adventures at the Spray Lakes Reservoir, Canada #timetofly #womenwhofly #HOKAchallengerATR #HOKAspeedinstinct

“With winter running, you just have to give it a fair shot. So many people I talk to turn to the treadmill or other forms of exercise during the colder months, but there's a feeling you get from running outside that can't be achieved through anything else.” - HOKA photographer @brookewillson on her adventures at the Spray Lakes Reservoir, Canada #timetofly #womenwhofly #HOKAchallengerATR #HOKAspeedinstinct

“The best thing about being a runner is that you really can do it anywhere. All you need are your shoes and proper attire for the conditions. I find it to be one of the best ways to explore places I have never been. When I am traveling in a new place, I’ll often backtrack my route instead of doing loops to prevent getting lost or running too far. I also tend to ask locals for recommendations on great trails or stick to more common paths. I love running, so I always find time to do it on my various travels and adventures.” - HOKA photographer @brookewillson on her adventures at the Spray Lakes Reservoir, Canada #timetofly #womenwhofly #HOKAchallengerATR #HOKAspeedinstinct

“The Challenger ATR is a very versatile shoe, making it great for the mountains, the roads and everything else in between. Its lightweight and cushy feel offers great comfort and stability when running on the trails and in the snow.” - HOKA photographer @brookewillson on her adventures at the Spray Lakes Reservoir, Canada #timetofly #womenwhofly #HOKAchallengerATR

“Some people find it difficult to get motivated or stay motivated to run in the colder months. For me, it's all about mindset and thinking, 'If I log miles in the winter through snow and cold temperatures, by the time the weather starts to warm up, my lung capacity and stamina are all at a higher level.' I always feel faster and stronger. Winter training is great for the body.” - HOKA photographer @brookewillson on her adventures at the Spray Lakes Reservoir, Canada #timetofly #womenwhofly #HOKAchallengerATR #HOKAspeedinstinct

“The Speed Instinct has been great a great all-around trail shoe. Whether it's through town, trails or up and down a mountain, its responsiveness and lugs allow me to dance over difficult and varied terrain — especially when faced with roots, rocks and rubble.” - HOKA photographer @brookewillson on her adventures at the Spray Lakes Reservoir, Canada #timetofly #womenwhofly #HOKAspeedinstinct

“Getting my pup, Timber, back in April has been one the best decisions I have ever made. I was a little worried at first because I’m a very active person and I thought that having a dog would hold me back from certain things or make planning adventures more difficult. It has only improved them. Even though I do have to plan around him a bit more, I love having Timber along for the ride. He came along for hikes when he was just two months old and spent most of them in my backpack. At almost 10 months old, he has already been exposed to so much and I can't wait for the years to come. He joins me for runs, hikes, camping trips, kayak/paddle boarding adventures and so much more. He is the best adventure partner.” - HOKA photographer @brookewillson on her adventures at the Spray Lakes Reservoir, Canada #timetofly #womenwhofly #HOKAchallengerATR #HOKAspeedinstinct

“There's something about winter running that simply warms my heart. It’s a beautiful time of year. I especially enjoy being out amongst the trees and on the trails when they’re covered in a white layer and I can breathe in the crisp air. It's more peaceful and quiet in the cooler months. Ending my morning run with a hot cup of coffee by the fire is ideal as it sets the mood for a great day ahead.” - HOKA photographer @brookewillson on her adventures at the Spray Lakes Reservoir, Canada #timetofly #womenwhofly #HOKAspeedinstinct

“The Tracer 2 is my favorite workout and race shoe. I not only feel fast, but usually race fast when I have I the Tracer 2 on my feet. It’s comfortable at any distance from 5000m to the marathon.” - HOKA Athlete @kellyn_taylor who wore the Tracer 2 when she placed 8th at the @nycmarathon last month. #HOKAtracer

"I've always felt like the key to me breaking through a wall when I’m exhausted is a good foot soak. Taking a two-minute soak brings my feet back to life, then I’m good to go." - HOKA photographer @chris_lorimer on his adventure through the Bugaboos in Canada. #HOKAchallenger #timetofly

"Upon arriving at Elfin Lake, you come across a backpackers' camp with wooden decks that acts as a level campsite to pitch your tent on. These platforms also work well to dry off on after a dip in the lake or for a quick stretch before the run back to the trailhead." - HOKA photographer @chris_lorimer on his adventure through the Bugaboos in Canada. #HOKAchallenger #timetofly

"The run to Elfin Lakes takes you past some pretty impressive mountains. Mt. Garibaldi, seen in the distance, is one of the biggest. As you weave your way around smaller peaks and ridges, Mt. Garibaldi acts as a sort of 'North Star' to keep you going in the right direction." - HOKA photographer @chris_lorimer on his adventure through the Bugaboos in Canada. #HOKAchallenger #timetofly

"A nice ridge run to Elfin Lake, near Squamish, is just what we needed after a few days of rain. The trail follows a mountain ridge and is about 14 miles roundtrip with moderate elevation gain and some single track thrown in. A perfect scenic half-day in the mountains." - HOKA photographer @chris_lorimer on his adventure through the Bugaboos in Canada. #HOKAchallenger #timetofly

“The day of The North Face Endurance Challenge was my friend Victor’s 32nd birthday. We ran the 50K, so we joked that morning that we’re just running his age in miles. Having his company and support, spoken or unspoken, helped ease some of the pain when things got tough. Just knowing your friend is in the same place and feels about the same makes racing easier. Victor is an incredibly positive person in general and that definitely carried through on the race course. He’s not a bad person to spend five-ish hours and 31-plus miles with. The presence of the HOKA team and HOKA shoes at TNF was loud, proud and cushioned.” - Jared Smith from the HOKA Product Team who was one of the 11 HOKA employees who raced at The North Face Endurance Challenge in the Marin Headlands in California.
